Leviathan?
Well, a few things worth mentioning.
Shadow Meld is best used as a proactive power, rather than when you're "in a pickle". Using it before going into a spawn removes the risk of the "alpha strike" and prevents you from taking too much damage for your resistance to save you.
Leviathan Mastery is my current patron pool of choice. The hold is fairly standard, I don't have much use for it though so I didn't pick it up. Water Spout breaks up spawns nicely, and has the added benefit of substantially boosting DPS when their is only one hard target (like an AV) so that the spout only has one target to attack. The single target blast is crap because it takes an eternity to animate. Hibernate is a handy tool, but it's important not to lean too heavily on it.
It really depends on whether you like the set more than Soul Mastery or not. Take whichever you enjoy more.

Thanks for responding. I went on Test and found I did indeed like Leviathan so I respected into it.
I had to drop something to take all the powers I wanted from it though...so I looked over my build, and saw very little in the way of defense bonuses...so I...err..decided this was going to be an almost pure resistance toon and dropped Weave..I know..I know...bad Lisa.
I hit 50 on her yesterday on one of Sister Airlia's missions in Cimerora..the first battle after you get the sword from good ole' Darrin Wade. Sister Airlia said Darrin Wade was unsavory of character...I smirked when I read that
Instead of finishing the arc, I opted to go after Trapdoor, Honoree, Holtz, and the Echo of Minos.
My little defense-challenged scrapper went and brought all of them to their knees !
Yay!
And yes, I am really liking Leviathan. My recharge is very good, so I don't have to use Hibernate very much at all, but when I need it I am glad it is there...there is some sort of Arachnos which slices through my resistances..not sure what kind of Arachnos it is though.
Anyways, enough babbling.
Lisa.

Hello all.
I am scrambling off to work, but before I go I have a question. My Katana/Elec is only 4 bubbles away from 50..would have been been 50 long ago but I have lots of alts
I took her redside to get Shadow Meld, and I like it ok but it does not last very long, and I usually find myself using my tier 9 instead when I am in a pickle...forgot the name of it.
I was looking at all the Epic choices and came across Leviathan.
Water Spout sounds like it would be great at breaking apart large mobs, and at the same time, it looks like fun
Hibernate sounds very useful.
The Shark Jaws single target hold sounds like it would go habd in glove with my Transport Foe power.
I will go onto test and try this out when I get home from work, but until then, is there anything bad about Leviathan for a scrapper?
And I have to gooooo...
Thanks in advance.
Lisa.
