Paragon Market Ideas

Here are some ideas I have for the Paragon Market. There are some things that I don't like.

1) It doesn't know what you've bought and what you haven't. I know this has been suggested many times, but it needs repeating and there's a reason that it's #1 on my list.

2) With all the Respecs you get (I have all the Paragon Rewards, and I still have 1 unspent token), I can't see spending $10 (800 points) on ONE Respec for ONE character. You can also get 3 free ingame, and you frequently get a free one with an update. I think this should be around 80 points instead of 800.

3) Character Rename Tokens cost $10 (800 points). I think this is also excessive. There are times that I've re-rolled characters because I was trying an alt and found a great name. If these go on sale for 80 points each, I will probably buy 10 of them. Until then, I will either keep the name or reroll if I have to to avoid this excessive price. I wish I could get these through the Paragon Rewards or get them instead of Character Transfers.

4) There is something else that costs 800 points for your character that I think is excessive. I can't remember it at the moment.

5 How about a Super Respec? This Respec would allow you to keep your character's current level and change his/her Primary and/or Secondary. I think this would be worth 400 Points. NOTE: A character might need to use two of these if he/she has 2 specs (like one for PVP and one for PVE).

6) How about an Extream Respec? This Respec would allow you to change your Class (something like Stalker to Defender). This would include the Super Respec since the Primary/Secondary choices probably won't line up. I think this might be worth the 800 points. The NOTE: in #5 would also apply to this Respec.

These are just a few ideas that I'm posting while I'm getting the oil changed in my car at the dealership (they have free wifi and a couple of computers to use). I may have more ideas when I get home.

4) Character Transfrer - this is what else costs 800 points. I still don't understand why my Primary account has a fewer transfers than my secondary account which has a lot less paid time.

Neither of these things will ever happen. The devs have specifically stated that they don't want players doing this and they're quite right to do so. A Mind/Psi Dominator plays nothing like a Plant/Thorns Dominator, but if you're suddenly switching your powersets at level 35 you're could be in a situation where you don't know how any of your powers work (yes, this is less of an issue for veteran players, but this is a general case). Switching archetypes is even worse, a Defender and a Stalker are nothing alike. Both of these also discourage creating alts.

I don't understand - people will still have plenty of alts. The whole purpose is to allow someone who picked powersets they don't like and choose new ones for money. These ideas are to help NC Soft get me to part with my money since the Rename, Respec, and Transfer I haven't done. And I won't purchase at their current prices.

Letting players purchase an "I Win" button would also get them more money from us, but that doesn't mean they're going to do it. And again, the discouragement of people creating alts (and maybe it wouldn't be the case for you, but it would be for some people) is just one factor, the main issue is with people suddenly having characters they don't know how to play. You know how after every major XP exploit (Winter Lords, Mito farms, etc.) the game gets flooded with people who don't know how to play their level 50s because they didn't actually start playing them until level 50? Yeah, it'll be like that.

Frankly, I have a hard time seeing how or why anyone could be so far into a character that they don't want to lose all their badges, yet they're only just now realizing that they don't like the sets. I made a Dark/Psy Defender back when GR went live, a Praetorian analogue to the Dark Ring Mistress, and I recently returned to her now that I have actual Carnie costume pieces to use. And my god, she is still pretty unpleasant to level. Fortunately, she's only level 19, so at this point I may just let her sit until Issue 22 and reroll her as a Dark/Psi Dominator. My point is that it shouldn't take you that long to realize you don't like a set, and because of that fact, it's not really that big a deal to just reroll.

I do like what you said on point 3 though, being able to choose from a rename or a transfer token through your monthly VIP reward.

I do agree that reducing the price of transfer, respec, and rename tokens would increase their sales significantly. Right now they're really too costly, it costs the same amount to respec a character as it does to permanently unlock two global character slots or a new power set. Not really comparable. Being able to unlock one with the more impulse-worthy cost of $1 or so would be much more reasonable and probably more profitable in the long run.
