Insect-based Powersets
as much as i would LOVE this [meelee and blast! nice!], and an Animal Control[serpentine holds, bird flock/bug swarm immobs, charging knockdowns, ferocious animals fear/stuns] set or a Beast-Warrior[think thundercats or He-Man's buddies] MM set...
I feel like the way they made the new MM set, they sort of mashed all those together thereby making these other [better organized for the AT imo] sets less likely to happen.
and i'm already sick of the canines: [german sheperd[meh] coyote travel [nice!] black wolf non-combat pet[meh] darkness control dark wolf [why is it a wolf? why doesnt it atleast have horns or wings or tentacles or something?] MM wolf tier 1 [more wolves? how are wolves henchmen?] MM tier 3 Dire Wolf [yes... another wolf...]]
anyway, a bug set, even as a customization option for an "animal control set" with birds, and other animals as other custom options would be perfection.

Maybe i can try to work out some specs in the future. Depends on how distracted I am.
My guess is that Insect melee would be some kind of short ranged cone set mostly, less upfront damage, more DoT. possibly using some self-targetting mechanics (Hits what you're facing, regardless of where what you've targetted is).

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.

With the one or two insect related powers in the leaked Beast Mastery set, I started thinking that it might be nice to see a spinoff in that general direction. (Yeah, because there's a concept I could easily fill with such powers, as I'm sure others might as well.)
I'm not much for figuring out technical aspects of things, and I'm posting from a 3DS, so not much in the way of details.
- Swarm Armor (for melee archetypes, protection against Toxic and Psychic)
- Swarm Blast (for ranged archetypes, could be a good candidate for the stacking Toxic damage mechanic used in Spines and Thorn Assault)
- Insect Control (for controllers / dominators, minor Toxic damage component)
- Swarm Assault (dominator, draws from the earlier Armor and Blast sets)
EDIT: In addition to this, the sets might be able to run off a mechanic that can give stacking boosts depending on either (a) attacks used, like in Fire, (b) the number of members in the team, as in the defender inherent, or (c) both. (I do have a working term for it, but it's a name I've used in the past for a toon and I know that it's in use now by someone else.)
