It should auto-renew month to month. However if you select the 12+2 you have 14 months to change it to whatever plan (after you get charged for the 12+2 or 7 months if you select the 6+1 plan).

If you change it to 12+2 what will happen:
The next time it renews, instead of $15, it'll be $143 (or whatever).
It will not renew again for 14 months.
In 14 months:
- If you don't change the billing again, after the renewal, you'll be billed another $143 (or whatever) for another 12 months.
- If you DO change the billing back to month to month, you'll be billed the $15/month again.
So if your account renews on January 1st and you change back to Monthly afterward, your billing cycle would look like this:
October-11: $15
November-11: $15
December-11: $15
January-12: $143 (or whatever).
February-12: Nothing
March-12: Nothing
April-12: Nothing
May-12: Nothing
June-12: Nothing
July-12: Nothing
August-12: Nothing
September-12: Nothing
October-12: Nothing
November-12: Nothing
December-12: Nothing
January-13: Nothing
February-13: Nothing
March-13: $15
April-13: $15
May-13: $15
