Slotting End IO's to pets
Does it matter what type of IO the end redux comes from? For example, if I slotted end redux from a knockback set to Jounin, would the attacks that don't inflict KB also have their end reduced, or would only the KB attacks be affected?
Even better, if I slotted end redux from a hold set to Oni, would that affect his main attacks, or just his one, single hold power? What if I slot accuracy from a hold set? |
Obviously things like knockback, hold, heal will only affect powers on the pets that have those aspects.
It doesn't matter what set it comes from the enhancements (like acc/end red/recharge) will affect all powers the pet has.

When you look at the real numbers in the enhancement screen, it sometimes lies in that it tells you that the Acc/End from the knockback set is affecting al the pet's powers when it really isn't.
The way I understood it is that knockback set IOs, for example, would only enhance powers which can do knockback. So if you slotted an Acc/End from a knockback set into your Jounin, it should only affect powers like Golden Dragonfly.

I guess I stand corrected then. Thanks guys.
The endurance reduction aspect gained new focus with the Demon pets. Demon Prince, Ember Demon, and Hellfire Gargoyle have endurance usage issues with abilities that are not affected by Pet Damage IO sets. Fortunately for the Demon Prince, using a slow set like Pacing of the Turtle allows enhancement of slow, acc, dmg, and endurance cost in appreciable quantities. This is coupled with the aspect that most abilities of the Demon Prince include an enhanceable slow factor. On Ember Demon, you get good mileage from a generic heal and endurance cost generic IO, or 2 golgi's if you have them, with 2 Centrioles (really inexpensive for what all they do) that boost damage, damage resistance and range [not really sure if you can boost a demon's range with any IO - not that it's a topic of interest]. Then some Pet IOs for acc and pet damage endurance, and your demon should not run out of end.
To the OP's point of endurance cost usage of Ninjas, I haven't noticed much hype about them crashing end. I would think most of the pets could use the frankenslot approach of acc/dmg X 2 and acc/dmg/end X 2 and slot for what you need from there.
Flower - I didn't know about it until they were testing the Demons on beta. It wasn't a big issue before then. It is certainly not well-documented in game.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
I kind of glossed over the Oni question. Slotting a hold set's -end would only effect the hold, as explained previously. He can lock down non-resistant bosses out of the gate after his second cycle, so I wouldn't sweat it. If you really wanted to buff his controls, consider the acc/mez hami-o, but it's probably of dubious value.
I've had 2 ninja MMs, and never had problems overall end-wise just slotting standard pet sets, none of their attacks are that end heavy, and the oni's controls both have a damage component and thus are affected by the pet sets.
