Dark Armor/Superstrength Build Help
It's possible to softcap Smashing and Lethal Defense on a SS/Dark Brute, but I don't think it's worth it, IMO. Shooting for 32.5% defense to Smashing, Lethal, Energy, and Negative Energy Defense with defense toggles and set bonuses then popping a purple inspiration is better. The problem is getting that AND making sure you have enough recovery to manage endurance and enough recharge to be Perma-Rage. I don't have Mids in front of me right now, but I think you should consider Energy Mastery, considering Dark Armor does require some know-how along the same lines of Regen where you need to know when to use what powers.

I have run Dark Armor few times. Depending on how many powers you take/how you slot it it can be an Endurance HOG. This is one of the reasons pairing it with Dark Melee works, with it's End replenishment power. Also, Super Strength is a bit of an end hog itself.
Just saying, be careful to look at those numbers when planning your monster. Good Luck.

I've got a very survivable build at home, as soon as i get there i'll post it up so you can see it. Honestly it was one of the most fun climbs to 50 that I had, I'd say because of the challange presented by the endurance issues this combo provides. Not to say that it's a bad powerset combo, but you WILL... I repeat WILL have endurance issues until you hit certian land marks. Now, does this build do as much damage as a SS/FA, no... and, because the defenses are fairly sturdy, your going to find yourself hard pressed solo to get your damage bonus over 250%... and rage crash can hurt if your not careful.
I built it to solo an ITF, but I doubt it can do it completely due to the lack of damage to overcome Rommie's regen, but that was before the cim lore pets and without the help of a envenomed dagger either. Would I do another /DA? yep, definately... but -not- to solo AV with, it's to painful a haul there.

Sorry this took so long to get back to you on, like I said, this is by no means perfect...and it's fairly expensive, so, be ready to spend some bucks on it. In-game I acutally got a lucky Hetacomb:damage drop and plopped it in KO blow... which, of course, helped in the dps department... (and yes, i know the kinetic combats have knock down bonus enh in them...couldn't afford the damage/recharge....i believe that's the expensive one... anyway...)
This setup gives him 47% s/l, 28% fire/cold, 29% energy/neg, psi 20%, Melee 38%, Ranged 25% and AoE 31% for defense... Res are a bit better, so he can definately take a hit... End got way better after i added the incarnate Cardiac stuff on him

So i read up on Dechs Kaisons thread regarding Dark Armor.
i wanna make one really bad now lol but my main concern is survivability, so i wanna know *if* its possible to softcap positional or specific damage types on a dark armor brute?
my theme is a DA/SS/FM.
i been tinkering with mids and i just cant get good enough defense or survivability.
i know im doing something wrong so anyone got any ideas or builds they can share with me.
appreciate all the feedback thank you.
