AMD 11.11 Drivers

I was playing on 11.3 as all the more recent drivers lead to a game crash for me, but I thought I'd try out the new 11.11 drivers.

Crashed with an opengl error after about an hour so I've rolled back to 11.3 again.

I have an ATI Radeon HD 5800 card.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

The only new one that seems to be stable is 11.9

Otherwise, you're in my boat sticking with 11.3 Seems like CoX get broken everytime they make changes

Indeed, I have had zero problems since installing 11.9, and I'm on a 5850.

Hmm.. can't remember if I've tried 11.9. Been playing on 11.3 for awhile and wondering if I can update or should update... some new games coming along but I am not even sure if the newer drivers have anything to offer my one-card 6970 setup. Seems like the patch notes are always only related to fixing the latest Crossfire retardation with some game.

Well I generally go by the rule of "if its not broke...."

11.9 should be safe, when AMD made changes for other games in 11.10 and 11.11 well it broke the fixes they made for CoX in 11.9

I talked with serveral of the devs about that during the Pummit. (and Texas Justice too) Basically, we need a "safe" AMD/ATI driver list for CoH

So, exactly who do we scream at in AMD to get this resolved? I've been patient for seven years but now I can't take any more.

Does anyone know much about the AMD Catalyst support structure?

Now that Freedom is released and a lot (more) people are playing this isn't exactly an obscure game...

Well it's not a problem as long as you don't upgrade from one of the known working drivers. Safe AMD/ATI drivers list.

But since games sell expensive video cards, it has become more important to optimize graphics drivers for every high profile game that comes to market instead of writing a stable, consistent driver that would force the optimizations to be done by game developers instead of the graphics card manufacturers. But NO.

It would be like insisting a compiler company should modify their compiler to make your poorly designed code run faster (because a big chunk of the graphics driver is actually just a compiler for shaders and that's what gets tweaked for high profile games).

After all, it's not like someone would play a seven year old game now, right?
