Buying Time Manipulation

Hi, everybody,

just asking:

Suppose you're currently a VIP, and you inted to stay VIP for the foreseeable future. Thus, you have access to the Time Manipulation powerset for free. Not only don't you need to buy it in the paragon store, but it seems you actually cannot buy it.

Now, let's say there's a sale of the Time Manipulation powerset, and premium (and free) players can get the set at a reduced price.

Is there a way to buy the powerset now, to make sure you still have access to your time-using characters if, at some point in the future, you might need to fall back to premium?

I posted something similar to this for things like controllers, MM's and specific power sets just in case the future holds something not to friendly for my gaming habits.

Yes, when something goes on sale when you are a VIP you cannot purchase it. The concept is of course that you can't buy something that you already have access too.

However said concept means you are renting said power, not actually purchasing it outright, which means when you stop being VIP your rental is complete, and you must then buy it directly.

So...My original example was with my water heater. So...it busted. Needed a new one. Got one and was renting it, until they had a sale. So I wished to buy it, which I was not allowed to do because of the rental agreement. I then found the same water heater on sale somewhere else and bought it, terminated my contract with said provider.

However in this case, by you renting the power, you pay 15 dollars a month, which is direct to the game company. Should you decide not too you must A) use points B) buy points, one in which is a one time purchase and offers no more returns to the company should you choose no longer to purchase anything from the store.

By a business standpoint, you can rent-to-own your powerset by remaining active enough to get the points and then end your sub. But during that time there could be sales in place which would allow you to keep your points, or more of them. But again does nothing for the company financially.

So...you miss the sale, to ensure that you will continue to rent your character...to possibly own, or have to buy points in order to fill the coffers of the company you were originally renting from.

Makes sense...

Don't like it.

But it makes for good marketing
