Previous teams I was on had fewer problems, but I've never really understood what was going on in this (or any) of these fights.
There's a simple thing you can do in this situation: back up. As far as I know, "Targeted" has a range of 30 feet; if you're further away than that, you'll never be selected.

As far as I could tell I was close to 40 ft back each time I was hit, possibly a bit further. It's really hard to estimate, but I definitely was getting the warning that my Tier 3 blast (base 40ft) was out of range a lot. I guess I could just use two attacks the entire fight.

I had the same problem, Tex. On my emp defender, no problem with the Underground, loved it. On my ff/grav troller? Not so much. With no heal to take care of the multitude of environmental damages and no good long-range blasts, I felt like a tag-along. Also, I got targetted at least six times during that fight. I got back up away from everyone, but other folks didn't. Breaking LOS, going WAY back down the hall, nothing stopped him from totally ruining me, and then I either had to wait for someone with a rez to notice me or fly back (the hospital porter doesn't put you right back in the action, sadly.) It was pretty demoralizing.

Had the same problem on Keyes, really. After running the incarnate content on my emp, I got used to having heals at hand. Swapping to a character without them and realizing exactly how much random environmental damage you get pinged for (and yeah, I count turrets, you're just standing there and BLAM! oops!) when you've got no heal to fix it.

When I'm on my blaster, I hang out around 60 feet back: with three Centrioles in Blaze, my entire attack chain has a range of 65 feet or longer.

In a recent UGT, I kept an eye on Hit Rolls during the War Walker fights. After popping several purple inspirations (unfortunately this character did not have Barrier), Lethal Force consistently had a 95% chance to hit, whereas Crowd Dispersal and Arrest Mode had a much lower chance to hit and actually missed completely quite a few times. Ironically it seems like the best way to avoid the mez attacks, aside from avoiding targeted players, is to have a high defense, as the magnitude of the hold and the fear are far too high to mitigate via Clarions.

That said, I'm curious, has anyone seen Lethal Force's chance to hit dip below 95%? I haven't been able to see the results with capped defense yet.

Bubblers are an Underground trial's best friend. VEATs are good too.

I've seen it regularly miss when using MoG and Barrier, but I wasn't monitoring the last hit chance. I'll monitor it and report back when things aren't so crazy. Shouldn't be hard getting recruits now that there's a sure rare/very rare at the end of the trial.
