Mids' Travel Speed Wrong?

In my Mids' build, it shows my super speed speed as 89 MPH. Using the exact same build on live, the game shows my super speed speed capped at 92.5 MPH. There seems to be some sort of discrepancy between Mids' and the actual game. Is Mids' travel speed wrong?

Any buffs in game that you don't have from mids?

Day job buff?

Fortune buff?

I have the Commuter day job badge, but I believe the buff only lasts two hours, and I was on for much longer than that. No Fortune buff.

I did. The only things listed were

1. Base speed

2. Swift

3. Prestige Power Slide

4. Super Speed

5. Several IO set bonuses

Ok, that's in-game? Now check in Mids' to see if you've "activated" Swift (the green dot next to it will be lit). That's my guess for "easiest to overlook."

If one of the sets is Time Manipulation, some of the powers there are bugged to affect the caster, and most of the enemy-effecting powers have -movement or -running in them. This is fixed internally, awaiting the next release.

sentinel is out of date with the current game version so it wont detect that your running the game, i noticed this when i tried to pull a build off live with it and i even made sure i had the most recent version

i think they are preparing a version of 1.0 which could be the delay for the update

I just loaded a build from in-game into Mids through Sentinel's export feature with no issue. Check your Sentinel details (Help > About); 0.9.4e is the current program version. My manifest and game client versions match (2120.201110150045.1).

Okie, something is definitely off in travel speeds between Mids' and City of Heroes. I completely rebuilt my Mids' build from scratch last night, in case I somehow made some sort of error I overlooked in the original build. It still shows the super speed speed as 89 MPH, while in game still shows the super speed speed as capped at 92.5 MPH. In fact, the in game Combat Attributes shows that my super speed speed would be 98.34 MPH if it wasn't for the speed cap.

Here is the data chunk for the Mids' build I rebuilt last night:

I really would like to see you get Sentinel up and running to see the import of the game build.

The screwy part is not Mids'. It's what the game is reporting. You do not pass the speed cap with just SS, Sprint, Swift, and a few IO bonuses; most especially with no Run IOs in either SS or Sprint.

Do you have Musculature Radial Paragon incarnate power slotted?

Are you looking at the combat attributes window throw Power Tray > Powers > Combat Attributes, or, are you opening up the Real Numbers window from the SS icon under the Health Window?

I haven't looked in Mids' at Super Speed's numbers, but the known in-game cap is 92.5 mph and lots of characters are capped. It would be a simple matter for someone other than the OP to look at the Mids' number for the speed of a character who is known to be capped, and see if it's 92.5 also in Mids', which would immediately rule out this being a Mids' problem.

I might try to do it tonight, but my Internet is down so I won't be able to post from home.

Mids' is functioning correctly for me reporting correct pre-cap, capped, and even "what your speed would be if there were no cap" numbers.

yes i did a fresh download and the manifest was not matching the game client version

the manifest for the program was something like 2110.xxxx and doing an update did nothing

edit: i just checked it now that i had time and its all the sudden working now *mind boggles*, those pesky computers trying to make me think im insane lol

All right, so, we know it's not Mids'. Hopefully the OP updates with more detail so we can narrow down his/her problem.

Please download and install Sentinel, then export from the game and import into Mids. This would, instead of rebuilding something from scratch which may or may not contain slotting or power errors, guarantee you're getting details right.

Note that Sentinel does not export Enhancement Boosters currently, so if you're using those then you'll have to re-implement them. The build that you posted has EVERY SINGLE ENHANCEMENT boosted, which boggles the mind...but if you have enough money burning a hole in your pocket, it is theoretically possible. (Aside: I want to live comfortably enough to have that much play money!)

Sentinel can be found at http://cit.cohtitan.com/sentinel/ - log in to the game, start Sentinel up and log in (create a Titan account if you don't have one), then go to Tools > Utilities, and export your build. Import through Mids.

Yes. Every single enhancement on my Force Field Defender that can be boosted, is boosted +5.

Alrighty, I'll download Sentinel when I get home from work tonight and give it a go. Thanks.

Is it just me? or does this seem to be much ado about nothing?

Or is the concern over more than just Run Speed?
(As in, if Run Speed is wrong, what about Damage/Accuracy/Defense/etc)

I understand people want to use the available tools to build the best character that they can get. That puzzle can be a metagame that people enjoy. I get it.

But please educate me. Is there a tactic in game that I can use where the difference between 85mph and 92.5mph is important? I get that it is significant for Damage, Accuracy, Endurance, Recharge, Mez, etc(Heck, even stealth and knockback), but run, fly, jump, and teleport?

Flight speed can matter if you use hover in combat with a character. For everything else it's a convenience thing, more or less.

Okie, I figured it out. I'm a moron. It wasn't listed anywhere in Combat Attributes, but while scrolling through over 100 temporary powers, there it was: Movement Increase. I still had time remaining on the temporary power from four Safeguard missions ago, lol.

My apologies for wasting y'all's time. 3.5 MPH is a very small difference indeed, it just made me curious, and now I know why.
