I can make a quick and dirty guide fer yah....just to give you an idea. Nvm, I think you know what do. The only other tips I can think of is putting the Ragnarok: Chance of Knockdown in Caltrops...umm. Also putting the PvP Toxic IO:in Acid Mortar is nice additional damage.
I have a Ragnarok Proc in my base just waiting for level 50
Ill consider switching out the Devastation Proc for the Glads Javelin in Mortar since I am not seeing anything come out of it with the hold proc.
I am also going to start saving up for a Panacea Proc for triage beacon. I am building this guy to be my next Incarnate Trial runner so I trying to get the most out of Rad/Traps as possible.

The devastation Proc is not that bad, I kept mine slotted due to stacking. With Ageless and Spiritual I was able to get 2 mortars out at a time easily. So with two firing at the same time combined with the Lockdown Proc things stayed held...a lot...but YMMV.
Why is /traps considered the AV killer? The -1000 regen is nice, but it's only 10 seconds and next to impossible to perma. I don't know how people manage it.

It's easy to get your defense up to 45% and beyond
Caltrops for good dmg against AV's
Triage beacon to help out if you also build for Regen
Mortar with it's -Res/-Def and the many procs it can take
Poison Trap with it's holds that could possible stack if you have another hold
Seekers so draw aggro away from you for a few seconds
Web Grenade for it's -Recharge debuffing and immob
Trip Mine...well that one is obvious
FFG is awesome.
I meant to type GM killer :P I mean all that is good and all but it looks like the degen is lacking to take out any gms

You can also stack them.
Because the effect is actually for as long as they stay in the "gas cloud" and another 10 seconds after they leave it or it dissipates, at least that's how I've observed it working. Haven't timed how long the cloud lasts, but it is a lot longer than 10 seconds.

Otherwise, Traps has a lot of the other tools you need for AV soloing; a good single target Immob to keep them from running or closing to melee, mezz protection, fairly easy soft capping, stackable -resist, an alpha soaker/damage debuff with Seekers, and with enough patience a decent Alpha strike with Trip Mine. I was soloing AVs with a Bots/Traps MM on SOs while leveling, there are not many powersets in the game which can do that before IOs, even among Masterminds.
I am going to try and solo an AV/GM this weekend and let you know how it goes.
On a side note: I tried the Ragnarok Proc and for some reason, it is doing knockback instead of knockdown. I want it to do KD on my caltrops but it seems to be doing KB and its seriously getting me miffed.
I am thinking about respec'ing Caltrops out and getting something else. I didnt take Time Bomb since I heard it stinks.
I am also thinking of taking out the Devastation proc from Acid Mortar. I spent some time with the practice dummies from RWZ just spamming my Mortars, I can only get 2 out at a time so it seems ok for the debuff field but the procs arent triggering enough for me to care, has anyone slotted Glad's Javelin: Chance for Toxic Damage?
As for the Incarnate Trials, I dont see my Rad/Traps doing too muich on the BAF Escapee Phase but the AV phase he seems to be doing very well for an incarnate that isnt fully slotted.

I just tested it on live. No Kb here. Were you fighting Clockwork? Some enemy groups are really weak to KB. I was fighting blue and white con Council.
From what I know about traps so far and about Beam is that they are good together. Since the traps are place and hold, you get to spread the beam love easily since you dont have to switch between constantly trapping and beam blasting.

Is anyone noticing that the Lockdown Proc in PGT is hitting all targts in the AoE? I expected just a few to get triggered but it turns out that the gas trap is hitting everyone in the area of effect.
The Devastation Proc in Mortar is just horrible, the proc rarely hits and the frequency is meh. I just got my Scorpion's Shield for the extra defense, my total recharge rate is at 107.5% and I am focusing on +Regen/+Recovery since I have good defense from Manuevers, CJ, FFG and Scorp Shield.
Are there any other proc tricks for a Rad/Traps?
