I don't know if the client hit a timeout or if it's a random bug but so far the only two times I've left the client open for some time prior to logging in I got the bug.

Same here. Got the error, quit the client, relaunched, and everything was fine.

I have had this happen in the past. Usually alt-tabbing out and back in sorts it.

I've had the specific problem mentioned but since November it stepped it up another notch. First server errors claiming no internet (even as I post on forum and stream The Cape)
now it just says no. Refused entry of info in ID /PW and has greyed out login bar.
I usually load from NCsoft because it is on my toolbar & shortcut is on desktop
Frequency is now 3 out of 7 days from the one day on the 4th. I have a pile of tickets and canned responses... no resolutions offered except for my sound issue that is reserved to my Mace/shield toons (didnt work-but least a suggestion) Not feeling so VIP anymore... 
(PS just updated client 2 days ago-no dice)
