*/time build request.

Two part request. I want a time manipulator. I know that. I want him to have power boost (whether from power or soul epics). Obviously I'm wanting to do the boost+farsight for soft-capping my defenses permanently. But here's where I'm having a hard time : which primary(first request)? I don't want buyers remorse and I would love to get some testimonials with their builds. Personally I love soloability, but still join in on team fun for TFs and end game content. Based on comments from other threads I think I'm torn on these three primaries: fire, ice, and dual pistols. I love fire for its beastly damage in both AoEs and ST. I love ice for it's two rains, good damage and synergy with minus recharge/slow. I love dual pistols for its crashless nuke (and its shorter recharge). I am having a hard time weighing these benefits against each other, so really curious about what your thoughts are.

What have some of you experienced */time players have found and enjoyed? I would love to see builds(second request) and feel free to incorporate incarnate suggestions as I mostly do end game content. Thanks every one

If we're purely talking about build power, I'd not go with DP. Go with Fire or Ice. DP is a pretty solid blast set but Time is a very busy set so it doesn't work that well with a weapon set IMO due to redraw and slowish animations.

Fire and Ice can both do very solid damage and have AoEs that synergize well with Time (the Rains).

I personally went for Fire, because ZOMG damage. It's simply far and away the best primary if you want to kill things. However, it provides no mitigation (other than dead stuff can't hurt you, I suppose) so it needs to be paired with something that does provide mitigation. Time provides that in spades. So I find it's a really good pairing, like Fire/Dark. Fire is all offense, Dark is all defense (so to speak). Same deal for Time.

A friend of mine went Ice and as far as I know it's worked out well. My own experience with Ice paired with other sets tells me it'd be a good pairing too. Just a bit less damage.

When deciding between Ice and Fire I'd say it comes down to two main considerations. What do you want more of, control or damage? If you want more damage, go for Fire. If you want more control, go for Ice. The second consideration is the popularity of the build, or FotM to use a silly and outdated term.

Fire/Time is (for many valid reasons) arguably the go-to pairing for Time. So if having the same sets as other people bothers you, you might want to go with Ice. Personally, this kind of thing used to be a consideration for me, but I've long since stopped caring. What other people play shouldn't stop you from playing what you want to play, but thought I'd mention it because it is a Thing for some people.

As for builds, I think there's a whole bunch floating round other threads where people have shown what they've got so far, what they're aiming for, etc. If you decide on a primary and put together a build I'd be happy to provide feedback on it.

Edit: I've also seen a couple people have gone for Elec as a primary. That also has great synergy potential, as Powerboost lets you slot SC for damage and still have great sapping and you'll be in melee range anyway for TJ. It has the advantage of 2 AoEs, which is nice. The only downside is a lack of a t3 blast, which is what really puts me off. You can supplement its damage with the Voltaic Sentinel, but you'd have to recast it every minute, it still doesn't do that much damage, its slow and honestly, Time has enough stuff to click as it is. Again though, very doable and solid if you want to go that route.

As for Epics, I'd definitely recommend Cardiac for your Alpha if you're going with Ice or Fire. I've not played with Elec in conjunction with a high-end set like Time, so I couldn't say if the minor end gain from it is enough to help. My suspicion would be that it wouldn't, but couldn't say for sure. Time is very end heavy. As are Fire and Ice. All three especially so at high levels of recharge (which you want for perma CS). Cardiac also has the added benefit of boosting your resist shields, so you can get softcapped defenses to all three positions as well as 50% or so smashing/lethal resistance. Makes for a very tough character indeed.

For Interface, go Reactive or go home.

For Destiny, I've gone with Clarion. When you're softcapped to all three positions, only taking about half damage from the two most common damage types, the next hole to fill is mez protection.

Judgement, whatever you want. My Time Corr is Fire, so I went with Pyronic. Even if it sounds silly. Pyronic? Whenever I see it written my brain reads it as moronic.

Lore, same as Destiny. Whatever you want. Cims and Vicky are the best damage, I believe.
