Newly Damaged Arc?

Hi all, I've encountered a problem with a pre-existing arc and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on it for me (and yes I've already /bugged it).

So here's the thing: I opened up my most-recent arc to check it and first off, the AE system has forgotten which map I selected for the final mish. Although I didn't actually enter the arc to make sure, I'm pretty sure I found the same map, so it hasn't been removed, so no real problem there.

Then I notice that the custom group of foes has lost most of it's members, only two remained out of, say, 15. Still, I can add them back so again no problem their either.

But a few of the ones that were dropped from the group weren't custom but renamed standard foes. They don't get listed/saved in your "Your Created Foes" listing (or whatever they call that). So I've apparently lost their bios (and their recoloring job to boot), which is pretty discouraging, considering how long I worked on them.

I'm not sure when this happened, it's been about a month since I last played it up. When I did so back then, I noticed a costume problem had invalidated a single custom, but everything else played fine - same map, same foes otherwise, etc. Considering all the updating we've been through, who knows?

Any ideas? Anyone seen the same thing with their arc? You might want to check yours too.

I had the same thing happen to the custom group in :A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed!" right after it was featured in PC Gamer magazine. If you check the thread for the arc you can find out when that was since I don't recall off the top of my head. I had to re-add the recolors of standard characters from the group and redo their bios. I keep a word document for my arcs as I work on them and thankfully I was able to pull the bios from there. Another thing that happened at that time was that the boss set to not auto-spawn unset. The way these were discovered was a few low rates with comments about the boss appearing in each group in the last mission and the custom group (ironically the thing most praised in the article) only having a few members in it.

Edit - I Checked and I did not mention it in the thread, though I'm sure it's out there somewhere. If I had to guess it was about two months ago.

Edit - Found it! From 7/17/11 "Last night I found out via feedback that one of the very things "A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed!" is praised for in the article, it's custom group, was stealth broken due to some recent patch. A team playing it complained that all the minors were scrappers and that the big end boss was repeated all over the place,

Checking the arc, the big boss had lost is "Don't Auto Spawn" tag and two of the three minions from the custom group were missing. It was the two that were normal baddies recolored with new bios. I readded them and set boss back to not autospawn. In adding them back, I found that "Snake Eyes" was not allowed, so I made them "Snake-Eyes". Gotta love loosing ratings due to stealth breaks. Very very frustrating."

Clave, have you checked Test to see which version of your arc is up there? IIRC they haven't updated the AE info there in a long while so you may be able to recover those lost bios.

Stealth breakage sucks.

Craft your inventions in AE!!

Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!

WN, I'll look for that tomorrow (time for bed now) for sure, thanks for the pointer. I think from now on I'll be saving my work like that as well. *grumble grumble*

BF, it's a long story, but I simply cannot get this computer to load up a test server version of the game; I've tried numerous times following all the steps posted, but some step when I'm supposed to choose to do X my computer makes the choice for me without asking and of course chooses Y instead. Great idea, but beyond my capabilities right now. Damn.

After some consideration, I remembered that right before Freedom struck, I made local copies of all my published arcs, meaning saved files on my computer. I just opened up my Missions folder and all the details and foes are still there, so if I have to, I can recreate every renamed enemy. I'm not sure how to "read" the info about the recoloring I did, but at least the bios are still in there.
