Underground Trial Runs

Well we got to the Avatar but didn't beat him

I think next time we use clarion before charging in on the Avatar.

Okay, again, I'll hopefully be able to lead another UG run this coming Saturday night (8pm EDT most likely).

We had a full league last time so be there or be square!


This time I'll remember about the pbaoe yellow/purple aura attack that the Avatar does AND we'll use Clarion before we start the fight against him heh.

Sorry I couldn't lead a UG this past Saturday. It was a spur of the moment thing unfortunately; my brother came over to the house and so hung out with him.

This coming up Saturday though, I will hopefully lead one again, 8pm EST.

Here is a thought. Underground trial every other night. Liberty has the numbers to do it. You just have to convince them that baf/lam can always be done another time. Don't look at me to lead. I hate leading stuff.

Just FYI; I'm not sure if I'll be able to lead the UG trials for this coming Sat. and the next Sat.


I forgot that my Aunt is here for the next 1-2 weeks...and who knows if I'll be online Sat. nights or if I'll be doing "family stuff"

If I'm on around 8pm EST I'll try to lead a UG.


Btw, does anyone have a tanker that would like to be the 'lead' as far as tanking goes?

Irony now being my tanker is all "done" and I want to get components/e-merits on my other toons but...they're not tankers

If it were any other trial, I'd volunteer one of mine... but I learned the hard way with Palrah that a Willpower tank just gets eaten alive by the Avatar. Even though Ty's melee defense numbers are better, I honestly don't think she'd handle it any more easily than her big brother did.

I think it's safe to say that Liberty can beat the UGT now on a consistent basis, providing these few conditions are met:

At least half of those participating should be level shifted. Not necessarily for incarnate trials, but I think it's a fair statement that people will miss less, and get hurt less facing foes that are +3, rather than +4.

I can suggest that all "follow" directions and learn to read, but I am certain that those on the forums can and do.(read and follow direction)

Numbers. I honestly think that if you leave with less than 20, you're going to have a rougher time. The HP of the goliaths is the same - whether it's 2 or 200. The more players, the better the chances of success.

Leadership for this raid is really not that mission critical -- BUT
our server seems to be more likely to not run a tf in lieu of a trial if someone that's leading that trial is someone whose knowledge of the trial is known and respected - i.e. Xtreme Raze, Wulfrich, Tempest, E.Ion, to name a few.

Liberty does have enough people, of course, to do many different activities - but sometimes there just isn't enough to do the UGT with a decent degree of confidence, because the playerbase gets divided between an ITF, the weekly, and who knows what all else might be going on.

Myself, I've been superbusy with trying to respec my warshade and the recipes needed to do so. Blocking out the time necessary to do a UGT is not something I want to do, but will do anyway, because I need that bomb badge, and I'm hoping that I won't have to wait to get it like I did with Midnight Dodger.

Establishing a regular run time for UGT (and Keyes) is a good idea. Look how well the MSRs do! Not to take anything away from @noyjitat, but that success in attendance has more to do with people being familiar with when it will happen than anything else. (pure conjecture on my part)

I think Thursday and Saturdays at 9:30 pm eastern would be a good time - but that's just me.

I think you're right about having a "usual time" making the trial easier to form, Ukaserex... Saturday is probably our best bet.

I also suspect that the more we run through the UG, the more people we'll eventually have who understand the mechanics of the Warwalkers and the Avatar fight. That'll be a definite factor in how tough or easy a time we have of it...

I watched an otherwise pretty strong league crash against the Lichen walker yesterday afternoon due in large part to players not really understanding how being targetted for the thing's special attacks worked, and no knowing which (and how quickly-) fungi needed to be destroyed to prevent its regeneration. If the group had been just a little more experienced and a little more comfortable with the specific requirements of that fight, we'd have beaten the snot out of that thing instead of running out of time. We had more than enough fire-power to have flattened it under better circumstances.

With regular runs and a solid, core group of people who are familiar with what's going on, I think we'll see a lot less of that kind of failure.

I'm glad Wulf was there to be the 'main tank' as it were...got to do something other than tank


I will say I was a bit off this past run; my aunt was playing games on my dad's PC and when she was done she came over and was hovering over my shoulders wondering, "what's that?, who are you? What happened?" And other random questions....

All that happened when we were fighting the 2 AVs (and mainly during the lichen-infested War Walker) heh. At the time I had Clear Mind on auto for Wulf's tanker but then I saw "Lethal Force Authorized" and was like, "oh have to hit my Destiny heal in a second" but then my aunt asked another question and then CM activated and well...quite a few died heh.


Just glad we succeeded.

And we completed it in an hour too. The past week we only took an hour as well.


I say it definitely helps to have toons that are lvl-shifted.

One thing that Wulf did was had all the taunters (tankers/etc) go with him and the rest of us attacked...not sure how well that worked; but it seemed to do a good job. Only one "big" wipe of deaths from the 2nd AV.


Avatar went down pretty easily; think we only had 2 or so clarions too...not sure though.


So; it seems we have plenty that 8pm EST usually works for....usually more than 24 /tell me wanting in...which I hate saying no to...especially if I said I'd hold a spot but then forget

That's one day a week. Is there enough demand to run anymore? After one of the MSRs perhaps...

Heh, no my aunt wouldn't touch games like these...

She's 60 or so years old so the 'hardest' (or most intense) games she plays are the random cubic/bubble-pop type flash games...


She just likes to be "annoying" and ask a lot of questions
