Need Help with Rad/Rad

Hi, Im new to the game and been playing a Defender Rad/Rad which is level 25 at this moment, i met some people that said why was I playing a Defender when I could play a Corruptor Rad/Rad doing the same with better result, I know nothing about the difference between those AT's and want to know why they say that, I know the inherent powers but dont think is just for that.

A Rad/Rad Defender and a Rad/Rad Corruptor will play very similarly. The Defender will primarily focus on buffing/debuffing, and the Corruptor will primarily focus on damage. If you're having fun with the Defender, I wouldn't worry about it. Both are great contributions to any team.

I am not sure what your question is. Do you want to know which is best?

Either is fine. Corruptors do a bit more damage. Defenders help people survive a bit better. I think either choice is fine.

Defender debuff toggles are better, while Corruptor damage is better. Neither AT is a bad choice. That said, I would tend to lean toward Corruptor for */Rad. Once you get built up, slot some IOs, and start running with high-performing teams, you'll find that you just don't use your debuff toggles on a lot of spawns. That's where Corruptors' damage has an advantage.

I like to think of it like this: if you are usually on a large team, then defenders are better, and if you are usually solo or on small teams, corruptors are better.

Reason being, a defender's large buff numbers and debuff numbers are multiplying the damage of everyone on your team, so it adds up to more damage than what a corruptor would make up for with his own personal damage. On a small team or solo, you are buffing a smaller number of people, and a corruptor's higher damage will out do what is being buffed.
