would it be a good idea for some one low on funds to get the -tohit to cover bad defense? this is mainly for a farming char

No, just use purples and build for some fire def. You won't use ST attacks anyway, slot them with perfect zinger and Aegis on your shields. I only use the two fire armor shields plus CJ to farm and need only 1 luck at a time (2 to softcap) to farm at +4/x8, weave and maneuvers are just placeholders for lotgs (which I got, along with a numina and miracle, without external funding).

And that was since he was frankenslotted with 30%ish global rech (used 4 purps to softcap then but no biggie). But I did incarnate him when he had a lousy build so my end problems went away with Ageless. After Spiritual+Reactive it got stupid good, all T3, did it in 4 days (2 to get him to 50 by myself, 2 for the incarnate stuff).

It works in AoEs, not sure where you would have heard it doesnt.

Rapid DoT patchs (rains and burn etc) it does only work on one target tho

Reactive Radial is probably your best bet (Don't quote me, not a major farmer) since it'll add a nice DoT to all your attacks and some -res.

The reactive proc was checking for the proc on every dot, on every target. They 'Fixed' it by only checking once every ten seconds like most procs should on rains and Damage Auras. However, once it 'hits' it stops checking, unlike procs.

The devs said that they realized they messed it up and it will be fixed. I believe it has been fixed since it first was 'fixed'.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Sure. I built some fire def so I with 1 purple I'm good enough on fire ambush farms (but 2 to softcap), and since medium purps drop so much I can softcap with them. You may find the slotting odd but when farming I only run the two fire shields and combat jumping, and it kills so fast my tray only has FS, Ball Lighting, Elec Fences, Burn and the other are combining macros for insps which I'll be trading for binds (mouse click for damages to convert everything to reds but purples). As a matter of fact I haven't tested this build with the oblits and lotgs yet, just put them on the toon two days ago and played lowbies only after. So yeah I only farmed with a build like this but with FS and Burn frankenslotted with Sciroccos and stuff and no lotgs. The fire/cold def will reamin the same without the expensive IOs I just added, and I kinda added them mostly to get ZOMG recharge, I didn't feel my build lacking without the expensive sets.

Also with Ageless T3 I don't need Consume or the numina/miracle uniques (currently have the numina, miracle is the only one missing form this).

(btw this is not the build I use for trials, for them it's a ss/fire/soul with KO Blow and Gloom properly slotted for damage, plus tough, weave, about 50% global rech before Spiritual, etc, not much def but it does fine anyway, I rarely die and RoTP is always up when i need it).

Also I have Pyronic but ultrawatt told me Ion Judgement is better so I'll go do some trials for that.

Kioshi, why vengeance if farming? I'm trying to level up my first SS/FA/MU so really curious on the build

It's a LotG:+Rchge sink, nothing more.
Check the power pools, and you'll see why he had to take veng.

Yup, this. I could for example put a +perception IO on tactics but this is a farming only buid.

Anyway some SS/Fires who PL others (I never did except way back on my fire/kin and only like, 3 times) actually use Vengeance on some lowbie corpse to help, so it's not a totally wasted pick if you PL other people.
