Language Settings on a Mac

Before you say anything, yes, I have seen this:

It does not work on a Mac because the settings do no contain language options. You can change the region between Europe and North America but not the language - it seems to be nailed to the system language.
Well it's set in the NCLauncher for windows, not sure if you have the same options for the Mac launcher.

Hello,
can anyone tell me how I change the language settings on a Mac? When the game installed it automatically assumed German settings without asking me and I cannot find a way to change that.
I usually play on Union server and I really need to see the English descriptions of the powers and mission names. Firstly because I am used to it and secondly because I can't communicate with the community at all otherwise.
My best guess so far is the file
/Applications/City of Heroes.app/Contents/Resources/Preferences/user.reg
which seems to contain registry key which would be in the Windows registry if I was using windows. There is one key
"Installer Language"="1033"
in the [Software\\Cryptic\\COH] section, but I don't know what to set it to.
