Just wondering how good/bad the set feels and plays on a corruptor. I know its not much in way of AOE but it has really good range and 2 of the powers seem to do a very good amount of DPA, bettern then most other blast attacks. I know it PSI and when you face robots it goes way down, but on a corr I figure you get some nice -res depending on your 2ndary.

I have a hard time being objective since my Fortunata is so dam good and pretty much PSI Blast. But she lacks any kind of fun buff/debuffing like Storm, Time, Traps.

I love Corruptor Psi Blast for many of the reasons you mentioned.

As you suspected, the single target beatdown just gets better and better. The animation times are kind of crummy on the tier 1 and 1.5 blasts (Mental Blast, Subdue). They didn't get the benefit of blaster animation time normalization due to the huge disconnect between the (awful) blaster version of psi blast and the defender version, which corruptors get. But as you've noticed, the animation speeds on the tier 2 and 3 blasts (TK Blast, Will Domination) are amazing. Sure, big hits don't leverage Scourge as well, but at those animation speeds, who cares?

Psi's AoE is a bit quirky. The slow animations are a bummer, the slow DoT on Tornado is a bummer. But both AoEs apply significant, stackable recharge debuffs, and both have an expanded radius of effect (60' for Scream compared to most ranged cones at 40', 20' for Tornado compared to most targeted aoes at 15'). Forget the crummy stun power, those big recharge debuffs are the real utility of the set. Also, the damage on both AoEs comes out to average, provided you get all the Tornado ticks in.

Thanks for the input, I am leaning towards Psi/Time atm. I really like all the tools in the tool box that time offers.

My psi/time corr is lvl 23, and aside from predictable lowbie endurance use woes, it's been a great success. Fortunatas have been my only other experience with psi blast, and I was nonplussed with the slower animations then....but it feels much more 'right' on a /time corr. Everything is slowed, and recharge debuffed, and nothing has a chance to go anywhere as you work them over.

I'm looking at /psy mastery for the epic, for theme, but also for Dominate to stack with Time Stop, and the epic armor. That build has 44.5% ranged def, ~41% aoe, and only 30% melee, before the pbaoe debuff is figured in. Anything that wants to melee me will have to wade into the zone of doom(TM), and the ranged def will help with anything that is out of that range, with ~50% s/l and 28% psy res to back it up.

The same effect could be gotten with mu or elec mastery, but with a more applicable energy resist, instead of psy. And, hmm, powersink. Choices choices.

So I made good on my promise to play Psi. I rolled Psi/Dark. And I love it.

The knock-up of Psionic Tornado paired with the Fear in Fearsome Stare leaves most enemies unable to react. Psi's huge range means I can truly hover blast, and the -Recharge in the attacks means enemies quickly run out of ways to respond (since most have only 1 or 2 ranged attacks). I'm fairly sure if it doesn't compete with Fire/ or Ice/Dark for damage but it definitely has a lot going for it in other ways.
