Points...and I
I think that the inability to buy stuff available as VIP is a known issue, but it won't hurt if you post about it on the store thread on the bug forum.
It also looks to me like you're a token short. From your description it sounds like you have 6 tokens (5 to fill tiers 1,2,3 plus one to slot in tier 4). Assuming you subscribed continuously since your forum registration date, you should have 1+ year of veterancy, which would translate into 5 tokens (4 badges + yearly token), and together with the 2 you get for free that should be 7 (unless for some reason you didn't create the account from a retail code). There have been a lot of complaints about incorrect token counts, so I won't be surprised if it's a mistake.
Regarding the IO system, that would be 160 points, not 120.

I only had one token to spend, so I spent it on the shoulder cape. If there has been any downtime in my subscription it would be min a day at most because I pay through paypal not with a CC.
Ill post the store concerns in the store bugs. Maybe that will help others and the dev team make it more solid
Nope. Said 600 points.
But I could only wish list it. Else I would have spent the points on it right away! I still have something like 850-900 some odd points available, which were intended on buying the controller. That being said, Ill be premium for maybe a week. I was only planning on keeping the points to unlock the controller just in case something happened. |
2. Why should you be able to purchase something that you already have as a VIP?
3. Evidently I have not quoted the correct post, but I am too lazy to go back and grab the correct one, this one is close enough.
I am so sick of seeing this argument because it gets trotted out every single time anybody questions the pricing/access of game features in the new payment model. The argument is basically "well it's better than nothing so ALL GLORY TO PARAGON STUDIOS, THEY CAN DO NO WRONG."

For the record, I have been pretty intensely critical of the game lately and have lost a lot of faith in the devs in the past couple years. But yeah I'm just a fanboy.

In preparation of going Premium. I.e., why not? You're just "renting it" as VIP. You should be able to buy it permanently if you want. Sure you could go Premium and do it, but sometimes it's just better for the book balancing to buy what you want up front. Granted there should be a warning that you already have it as a VIP.
How many reward tokens do you have now? And how many Paragon Points? Each VIP month gives you another token and 400PP, so even if you don't have any PP then after 3 VIP months you should be able to buy the controller without paying extra.
Points wise I have 880 on the nose. I appreciate our comment. Im not setting an argument up. Im just more interested in how the store development could be done better to avoid conflict.
IO's I am not concerned with anymore. I can either pay 120 points which will grant access to the IO system for any downtime I was facing. Which again would not be long.
As for the controller, it's the same price as the entire Going Rogue Alignment system as per the points needed. Veats are less, and oddly should be more? Khelds are the same as veats, with MM's and controllers being the highest priced toons available.
I agree there should be a system in place which advises you what you can and cannot buy or even what has purchased to allow for the functionality of unlocking specific, desired content or items.
Im not far away from unlocking the controller. I guess the concern was that if something is on sale in the store (Anything) and it comes with the VIP, there should still be the functionality of purchase options to allow a player to buy those disired items.
I assumed that was what the head start was about. Getting things you wanted, however if you are VIP and wish to select something...in the event that you need to go premium, it should still allow that item to be bought. It is after all the points you earned right?
Thats where the sore spot comes in for me. Again...I may not be able to play my controller for 2 weeks because of being premium. Thats fine, but it would have been nice to not have the VIP status blocking me from purchase.
