In the end it sounds like there is little chance I will be able to entice him to go VIP and join me in the Incarnate stuff. Not unless I give him a 60-day game card for Christmas or something...
Get him the card, and bring him to First Ward to hunt the Seed of Hamidon. Run him through the Signature Story Arc, and if he has a level 50 character from before, the Underground Trial.
If that doesn't give him the visuals and play experience he's looking for, then CoX isn't the game for him. If he has fun, then he'll stick around.
