No offense, but that really isn't a 'funny' tell. That is more of a /facepalm kinda /tell.
We've had numerous threads started over the years for Mistells. Those usually end up being the funny ones.
Things meant to be said in private broadcasted for the entire zone to see. People badmouthing team members only to realize the forgot to hit backspace...
Best one I can recall off the top of my head was about 3 years ago.
I was just standing in Atlas wasting time when I got a /tell from a stranger saying Hey! haven't seen you in awhile etc etc.
I looked around but didn't see them so I replied that I wasn't sure who it was. The player apologized and stated they'd clicked the wrong name in teamsearch and I went back to local chat.
Probably 15 minutes later I get another tell from the same guy...
Guy - "So I said I wouldn't wear her's unless she wore mine. I gotta say, silk is pretty comfortable!"
Me - "Still clicking wrong names I see?"
Sadly, he didn't reply.

I'm sure there are plenty of stories of rude and aggravating tells. I've seen some threads on those. But what about the funniest tell you've ever received? Not someone trying to be funny or telling a joke about a priest, a rabi and a minister walking into a bar. I mean the kind of thing that is just so completely odd that you practically spit your drink out because you can't believe someone just said that to you.
So I'm on a baf run and I finally get a really good purple drop during the run. In 15 months of gameplay, I've gotten a few purple drops but usually just a sleep one or one of them that isn't worth nearly as much as the best of the best. This time, I got an Armageddon: Dam/Rech/Arch recipe which goes for around 650 mil at WW's, give or take a little. I get a tell from someone asking me if they can please have it because they never get rare drops. I almost fell out of my chair with laughter. Yeah, sure, I'll just hand it over. You want the password to my account too while you're at it? How about my Social Security number? What's that you say....you own 15 acres in Dark Astoria, some swampland in Perez park and a bridge in Faultline that you'd like to sell me too? My reply was....sure, I'll give it to you for market rate, lol.
And yes, this person was absolutely serious, lol. They had a 3 month vet badge so I'm assuming they are relatively new unless it was a second account or something. They were also the only person to die on the entire run on a 24 man baf that just blew through the run. They were off to the side during the Siege/NS finale "soloing" an add and getting beat down...then, they rezzed and just stayed off to the side and leeched. I know, I know...shocking that a baf leecher would ask for a free handout of a 650 mil recipe, lmao. Guess they thought "free" play started a few days early, haha.
I know a lot of you have been around here for several years....you guys must have heard some really doozies.
