Video/sound options with staged install

I just moved to a win 7 64 PC and of course, reinstalled NC Launcher. In the staged install, it allows you to get into the character creator while the rest loads. It asks if you want standard or ultra graphics. I chose Ultra (I have a Ultra-capable card), but the game started in 800x600. So I would have to create my first character in a horribly vertically compressed mode (I have a widescreen monitor). Would it be possible to add the video/sound options to the Stage 1 download and a button to access them ?

That's not the staged download. The new character creator enforces the 4:3 ratio no matter what.
