I may have to hop in on this, heh.

My main character is being messed around with to fit within Dresden Files stuff. A WIP, but I'd love to get a part of this.

I have a name held for a Dresden Files tribute character, and would love to play in this group, but the character won't be launching till Freedom kickstart (mostly cause I want him as a FF/Fire).
I play Liberties, the chief of Unified Force, a SG on Virtue based on a PPD concept as well, and we would love to have some cross RP with your Division sometime.

Hope to hear from you soon.

That would be fun! we have an ooc channel to organize role play and I am sure we could set something up. Send me your global via private message and I'll add it to our ooc channel.

Well I re-worked Marcy Dragon to be able to hang out with you guys, I went simple she's a Warden. Got the grey cloak and everything. I gave her a Mostly Steampunk look, that should mesh well with Dresden lore and COH lore. Granted most younger mages are into jeans and tee-shirts, but I figure she likes Steampunk. After all it doesn't brake down as easy.

Fantastic! In fact we may have a character that yours may already know. He used to train wardens and is sort of stuck on the Victorian era. Check out Armand Swensen on the website.

Note that until a storyline we are working on is finished, most wardens are watched with scrutiny. Make sure you check the opening explanation on www.benham-esl.com/dresdenphiles about how we have explained how the Dresdenverse ties into CoH.

Azuria has been sending anyone who buys into the white council or who is running from it to Deborah Blackmane. Wardens do not have jurisdiction within Paragon and it's outlying areas for reasons explained on the site. Hence why so many mages/wizards/warlocks have moved to the area.

Elvnsword: I got your message and will add you to our ooc channel. We just picked up a PPD oriented Liaison named C. McCall. He's a homicide detective and will be sort of filling in for our Murphy type character. I think it might be a good story bridge for our two SGs.

McCall is a sceptic who recently lost his partner to a killer who is a body snatching warlock like "Corpse-Taker" from the Dresden File series and who is a member of the Circle of Thorns. McCall was investigating the murder and The Initiative bumped into him while looking into another lead by MAGI about important magical implements stolen to be used in the Dark Hallow type events (Banner Events) which are cropping up all over the city. He's going to be training with The Initiative to better understand the Circle of Thorns and try to keep supernatural events from endangering beat cops and civilians.

We are looking forward to interacting with you ic!

I'm intrigued by this. I recently started reading the Dresden novels and have been wanting to create a wizard/Harry Dresden-ish character. I guess I have a reason to do so now.

I'm also excited to hear the Jim Butcher plays CoH, and on Virtue to boot. It would be awesome to team with him after reading some of his work. In my opinion someone has to be really intelligent and talented to have a first novel be as good as Storm Front.

Mr. Butcher, as far as I know, always knew he wanted to be a novelist and did a lot of study beforehand. He wrote several short stories, I think, before Storm Front was published. I attribute his success and his fantastic work to being "one of us" (a geek who loves the same stuff we do) and hard work, on top of any intelligence he may have.

Hopefully we'll see him in game sometime. We hope that even if we don't interact with him, that he smiles at the idea that we have dedicated a whole 'class of magic' on our website to "smarassomancy"

Excellent. I did receive it and have added you to our ooc channel. According to our Join page you have at least 1 and 3 of the checklist done. Thankfully it's a short list.

See you in game!

From what I've heard, he actually contacted Cryptic about using the name Harry Dresden in game, to avoid copyright issues and so on and so forth. Although I haven't teamed with him, before I heard the above fact, I know I reported him for copyright infringement since I saw a dude walking around with the name Harry Dresden. >.>

I was reading on his website about it. He was saying something like "hey, I am the author!" and was pleased when he could use his own character name. Also, there is this awesome quote from an article I am linking.

People will say to me in the game “Oh, you know I love those books.” And then they’ll realize “Hey! You’re the author?” and that’s another way the fans can interact with the author and that’s a lot cooler than just throwing the book out there and hoping someone will read it. A fan can go to you and say, “Hey, I know you! I saved you from being bludgeoned by Nazis on top of a skyscraper!” I think it’s creating a liquid interface where you’re able to actually get out and talk to fans.
