Rad/Dark Corruptor Build?

So I've been trying to make a pretty awesome rad/dark corruptor build and this is what I've come up with so far. Any critiques would be great. Not sure if I should have more defense?

Tried to get a lot of accuracy and recharge through purple sets since Rad is my only source of -def.

Picked X-ray Beam over Neutrino Bolt since with the amount of recharge I have it will always be up.

Not sure where I could/should spare slots, or if I should pick up different powers? I'm sort of partial to not getting Irradiate, since I don't like the idea of PBAoE'ing on a corruptor like this. I'm not looking to farm or anything, either if that helps.

Again, any pointers would be heavily welcomed.

If you post your build chunk or a datalink we'll be able to give you more detailed feedback

To respond to your points in general though:

You don't need a great deal of accuracy because Rad has -defense. I'd aim for about 2 SOs worth (60-70%) in the powers with a tohit check. That combined with set bonus accuracy and the -def from your blasts should be plenty. If you need tohit in a pinch there's always Aim.

I'd still recommend Neutrino Bolt over X-Ray at high levels of recharge, unless you really dig the eye-lasers animation. The reason is that NBolt recharges and animates so fast, you can proc it out to be really nasty.

Not counting the Apocalypse proc, you can put 3 damage procs in it, 4 procs total if you include the Achilles Heel -res proc. That and 2 acc/dam HOs or IOs makes it a very effective machinegunning power.

I'd reconsider Irradiate too, but that's again personal preference. I like the additional AoE and it has absolutely massive -defense. It's pretty much the best source of AoE -def in Rad, which makes it a great place for the Achilles proc. Dark Miasma does lend itself more to range than melee, but it provides more than enough debuffing power to keep you safe as you hop in to use Irradiate.

Other than that, if you post your build I'd be happy to take a look in more detail. Hope that helps.

sorry about that, posted the data link.

Yea I can definitely replace x-ray beam with neutrino bolt... but I think my build needs much more work than that.

It's hard for me to make any suggestions because it's not clear to me what you're trying to accomplish with the build. Other than some +recharge it seems to me that there are a lot of expensive sets being used for little return. The build looks unfocused to me.

What do you want out of it?

You only took one AoE. Radiation Blast is among the weakest blast sets for single-target damage. If you're not taking advantage of the AoE it offers, why choose Rad Blast? I'm not saying there aren't other valid reasons, I'm just wondering what yours are.

If survivability is your goal you can get a lot more defense while retaining similar or greater +recharge. You have good resistances to S/L but for any squishy build, especially one that has a strong offensive toggle to contribute to survivability, defense is nice for its pseudo mez protection.

One thing worth noting is that as far as I know set IOs in Dark Servant only apply to powers he uses that take those sets. So he will get the accuracy boost on his heal but other powers will not get that benefit. I haven't tested that myself but that's what I've been told. Presuming that's correct, if you want to use a set for accuracy an accurate tohit debuff set would be the way to go. That won't benefit his hold, but I believe all his other powers will.

The reason I chose rad blast is due to the defense debuff offered, since dark has none.

Honestly, I suppose I'm not 100% sure what I'm trying to accomplish with the build. I want to be useful on teams, but also have the ability to solo well (perhaps AVs?). In such a case, the PBAoE isn't of much use. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems like my experience with Irradiate is simply that it's really underwhelming for the aggro it gives me.

Also, I love PvP in most games so I'm trying to make something that's 'semi-pvp' oriented (for arena, not zone). I know PvP has changed much since I last played so maybe most of how I'm built is useless in PvP... but I feel like I can probably still have fun with it. I guess I'm looking for a middleground.

All this being said, I had fun leveling this character up but it seems more support based than anything. Not entirely sure I'm enjoying him at 50 due to the underwhelmingly slow solo-ability of him. Granted he isn't IO'd out yet, so far he's a disappointment.

Is corruptor damage all this underwhelming in the solo area? My elec/stone dominator pumps out tons of damage (single target), but isn't as surviveable (yet). Corruptors always look appetizing to me due to what they seem to offer (damage and debuff/buff) but that's always on paper... when I play them the damage side seems more akin to a defender than even a tanker (looking at super strength, here).

Corruptors are a bit low on damage, though it surely doesn't help that you've chosen one of the lower damage primaries. Try Fire Blast or maybe Ice Blast and see if you change your mind. They're never really going to wow you though. You give up damage for the ability to buff and debuff. That's one of the reasons I tend to build mine for survivability. Even if I am slower to defeat enemies I can afford to take my time solo and bring a lot to teams as well.

Here is something completely different for you to consider

I don't think I would have chosen that ancillary pool, but I didn't want to change it because I didn't know your reasons for choosing it. Other than that, it's a quick and dirty first pass at what I might do if I was building one. Similar +recharge and resistances, but way more defense.
