Weave slotted the same way gives 5.91%

Hide and CJ with just a LotG: Rech gives 2.17% each.

That's 30.35%. Toss in a steadfast for 3% and 4 pieces of Reactive in Tough for 1.25.

34.6%. 4 more pieces of Reactive in IB for another 1.25% = 35.85%

36.6% total with Wet Ice added in.

So you need another 9% from attack sets in order to softcap. These numbers are below what I was expecting.
You can also put Reactive in Icy Bastion

I accounted for that...

SG: Guadians of Paragon - VG: Paragon's Darkness
The Usual Suspects: Fimboolvetr (Icer Tank), Tsukiyomi (Mind/Psi/Ice Dom), Smiting Dragon (Dm/Sr Scrap), Widow Mortis (NW)
Up and Comers: Ameterasu (Km/Reg Scrap), Arrhymian (Elec/Nin Stalk), TDMKII (Bot/Traps MM)

I think 9% away before attacks is fine, especially when you consider that you might be at 60% resist and 800% regen 1/3rd+ of the time, and you are talking about capping without EA.

Now granted, I also plan on hitting the cap without EA, but I do have to assume the set was balanced around it being used, so I am not too surprised if the base def is a little lower

[edit] I realized my estimate for IB was a little unrealsitic since it will be hard to slot out all the good attributes and max recharge in it, and the 1/3rd+ up time comes from really IOd out builds, but getting it 1/4 of the time, with 60% res and 600ish regen shouldn't be hard

I too plan on capping without the use of Energy Absorption. That way when I do decide t use Energy Absorption, it'll allow for a buffer for Defense Debuffs and provide better protection against higher level enemies or enemies with ToHit.

There's quite a bit I'm liking from Ice Armor - immunity to Movement and Recharge Debuffs, perma-capped HP, and Damage Aura to name a few. Yeesh, is it Issue 22 yet?

Now all they need to do is change icicles from Lethal damage to cold damage right

And as long as we are moving Ice sets around they better give cold to MMs next wave (even if traps is arguably better)

I wonder why Icicles isn't Cold damage. Or even a mix of Lethal/Cold. I get that Blazing Aura (and other Damage Auras) doesn't really have an impact to it so it can be purely Fire Damage, but while Icicles is piercing damage of a sort there's still got to be some sort of intense cold element to it right?

So tell me, when we finally get Ice Armor - what Power Sets will you pair with it?

Right now I've only got an idea for a Spines/Ice Armor, but in the future when they Proliferate over Ice Melee I might do an Ice Melee/Ice Armor character.

Icicles should be cold or cold/lethal, I agree. Cold Dom on MMs would be ridiculous. High defense and your pets would all have stupid high HP from Frostwork.

Ice Armor works well with anything, really. But if you want to capitalize on the set's strengths (at least from a mitigation standpoint) you'd want to go with DM, KM, IM, or Spines.

DM for the heal and -tohit.

KM for the -dmg.

IM/Spines for the -rech.

I'm doing Spines/Ice exactly for that reason. The synergy with these two sets is amazing. For example, you get two Toggles that PBAoE Debuff Movement and Recharge and two PBAoE Damage Auras!
