WP/Mace critique wanted

Hello.

Recently managed to get an old concept too to 50, and now that I've unlocked her alpha slot, I'm 'stuck' trying to decide where to go from here. Made a build based on a wp/axe thread, but was unsure what slotting changes occur between mace and axe. Also, I went off on my own for a power or two just for the lulz.

Any thoughts? No purps or pvp io's in this, could buy a few of them if I really, really would benefit from them. Anything that I'm blatantly missing?

Thanks in advance.

First off your res is over slotted and your attacks are under slotted for acc. I would take out 1 slot of each of the RA out of them, I usually just take it 4 slotted them. I would then put an extra slot on your melee attacks to add a mako quad. i would also switch the HPT with MOB. I would of not 4 slotted numas either, 3 slots is good for the HP. Interesting that you have no travel powers, and you took recall. There will be times where temp Travel will not be allowed. Also i would take out the Heal IO in RTTC and add in a taunt IO. The extra Heal IO is not doing you much good there plus WP has a week Taunt aura to begin with and the Taunt IO will help you. Maneuvers is under slotted for end. Not to mention your recharge is non existence I would switch out 1 of the LoTG to the global recharge at least. You also have to remember that if you have something slotted more then 3 slots the 4th will do you almost no good. IE having the LoTG 4 slotted for the def only 3 of them count, same with the numa Heal ones.

Most of what you recommended I agree with, but this isn't quite correct. For single-attribute enhancements like SOs or common IOs, it's true that slotting more than three of a single type provides almost no benefit, but that's not the case for set IOs that enhance more than one attribute. The benefit of four slotting (besides the set bonus) is that the power will be slotted to 56% (the big ED cut-off for defense and resistance powers) and have sufficient end reduction. That being said, you do probably want to aim for more defense enhancement in a power with a high base def/res value like HS or Weave rather than Maneuvers or CJ.

Ienilya, in addition to what LSK mentioned, Clobber is your highest damaging attack, take it as soon as it's available and fully slot it. I'd use another KC set and a Mako's quad.

Shatter and Crowd Control should also be taken as soon as they're available, so you're less likely to lose them when exemping. Also, take Weave before Maneuvers.

Shatter and Crowd Control are poorly slotted, they need another slot each. Replace the Erad Acc/Rchg with a Erad Damage and add a Multi Strike Acc/Dam/End.

Your current build has Health more fully slotted for Heal than QR, which is not a good strategy since QR has a higher base regen value. Put the Numina and Miracle uniques in Heal and slot QR more heavily for Heal.

Here's a rework of your build, keeping all the attacks but moving things around a bit. It's soft-capped to S/L/E/NE/F/C and the attacks are better slotted than they were.

Thanks for the replies. Finduilas, was the combat jumping in the build you posted meant to to have one lotg and one IO?

One thing I forgot to ask, what should I aim for regarding my alpha slot?

I have a second build for low-levels, so exemping down isn't going to be an issue with this build.

I would probably say spiritual since you do not have much recharge. I would go core on it if I could.

Yes, that was intentional. If you use another LotG in CJ you'll be past the "Rule of 5" for 10% regen bonuses, which is really the only reason you'd want an LotG there. Since a defense common has the same enhancement value as a LotG Defense IO of the same level, you might as well save a pile of inf and use a common instead.

I agree with LSK that Spiritual is probably the way to go for your Alpha, since recharge will be useful and with QR and Stamina the Cardiac end reduction won't be needed.

Regarding exemping, it's up to you, but as long as you're keeping the same powers, I've never understood the rationale behind changing power selection order to anything other than leveling order. It doesn't buy you anything, and it makes the build useful in fewer situations.
