CoH won't load?

Hey there, I recently reinstalled CoH after several years of absence, and seem to be having some issues.

I have everything running as administrator and when i try to load the game in the NCsoft launcher, it checks for updates, goes to the "loading" splash screen and then nothing.

COHelper doesn't seem to work for some reason, but here is my hijackthis details

Also I'm playing on an M17 alienware, i7 cpu, dual 5870's, 8 gig ram blah blah blah

Does it work if you (temporarily, of course) disable your firewall and/or antivirus software?

If so, you'll need to add CoH to your exemption list. I can't remember ALL the programs to do so with (there are at least two, if not more), but CityofHeroes.exe is the obvious one.

Most likely cause is WindowBlinds.

Either set WindowBlinds not to skin CoH or uninstall it.

Players have reported that disabling it doesn't seem to work.

As for CoH Helper not working, did you save it to your hard drive or run it from the website? You should save it and then right-click the file and Run as Administrator.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

i don't have windows blinds, i saved COHelper to my harddrive and ran it as an adminstrator, I'll attempt the virus scanner thing

would it possibly be the Alienware theme that came with my laptop? because i don' think i can disable that

Most Alienware systems I've seen of late have this pre-installed.

how do i shut it off? or open it and make an exception?

Since you're not using it, you could try uninstalling it to see if the launcher will work without it. Try using the add/remove programs in the control panel.
