Demoing the powersets before we buy them?
This thread has taken off nicely in my absense
What about if these sets were made demoable on test in this way, auto leveled to 50, you can't not get drops, or play incarnate stuff but you can test out a variety of options as far as how it plays with various enhancement choices, pure SO, all commons or the IO sets of your choice. Once you log out character is erased. Ultimately there is no substitute for playing the set.

In your example; your money gets you a lot of content, your bound to like something either now or later. I've never done DLC in any of my games outside of COH so that part doesn't really apply to me. I do regret my GvsE Purchase as the limits on the jump pack were never communicated to the player base so you either had to but it to find out or pay special attention to player complaints; also the sinister boots STILL aren't available with "pants".
I am going to disagree about them needing to allow demos of new powersets. Looks at game expansions, you do not get demos of them when they come out with new classes, abilities, content. Game companies expect you to buy the expansion if you want that content. Another example is DLC for games, no demos of them.
I suggest you read up on powersets and other items for sale before buying like you would need to do for expansions and DLCs. |
Edited for puntuation

Could you please try to reword that and put in some punctuation? I quite literally cannot understand what you're saying in the slightest.

If people care about the number crunching aspect more, then they can judge by the numbers or ask about it in game or on the forums.
I will admit that I'll be extremely hesitant to pay for any sets I can't see in advance, though. Style is important to me, and I've no intention of dropping ten bucks on something I can't rely on to look good. Hence, I hope making previewing available, if only in the character creator, is something that we can see.
