My human form Peacebringer build

AIB

Posted

I decided in the early 20's that I wanted my Peacebringer to be human only... Since around level 30 I switched to a tri form build to make leveling easier without set bonuses or clarion status protection. Now, my PB is about to ding level 45, so it is almost time to go back to the original plan...

My build goals were survivability and recharge without breaking the bank. Playstyle is kill/kill/repeat.

It would have been nice to work restore essence in, but that's not a game breaker for me. Overall I'm pretty happy with the way this is looking on paper... I think I have enough recharge to keep me in conserve power or light form most of the time, so I'm not expecting endurance issues.

I guess you guys didn't see anything wrong with this either? It's almost time to start spending my pile of money and man do I hate respecing.

Do you mainly team or solo? The reason I am asking is because When I am on a team the cosmic balance usually gives a buff toward the resistance and Tough is not needed; however it is a gamble because you never know what the team make up is going to be. If you are not a gambling man then Tough is not a bad choice. If I am in a situation that needs me to have more resist, then I just jump into light form.

Can you post the data chunk so I can take a better look when I get off work?

I like to team and solo, I'll certainly be spending a lot of time on Incarnate trials with my PB once he dings at 50 and I get his build slotted but I'm not comfortable relying on my inherent for resistance. It would be like not building Perma Eclipse on my Warshade for the same reason, just not a thought I'm comfortable with.

I wish Light Form was something I could rely on too as then I would be able to softcap s/l/e/n defense but unfortunately it is on a very long timer and I can't always count on it being up when needed- It's more like an extra bonus. I've even considered dropping it in favor of self rez.

I find Pulsar to be essential to any Human Form PB build. It's one of those powers that gets a bad rap but it actually very useful to mitigate damage. You should definitely take it in place of maybe something like Maneuvers which is another end draining toggle in a build with a lot of those already or even Vengeance since it's only useful comparitively rarely and then devote at least 4 slots to it. It's also a good substitute for Solar Flare if you really really hate knockback.

Posted

I disagree. Pulsar would be worth it if I had another form of stun to stack it with, but this is not a Warshade build with three stackable aoe stuns.

Maneuvers is helping me reach the goal of 32% s/l defense and working toward my other defenses also (e/n for example.) Defense is a much more reliable form of mitigation than a chance for stun on minions (not to mention, Maneuvers offers an lotg global recharge bonus AND is a prerequisite for Vengeance.)

Vengeance isn't going anywhere. It is one of the best powers ever, and also has the benefit of taking an LOTG global recharge IO.

Solar Flare is one of my highest damage attacks, maybe skippable on a tri or bi form build but I wouldn't dream of it on Human Only.

Yeah it's never gonna work on bosses unless someone else on your team has a power to stack with it but it takes minions and even LTs out of the fight like crazy once you have it properly slotted with accuracy, recharge, and disorient duration and it can easily be made perma with Hasten. It's really nice to have while your AOE attacks are recharging so you can just jump to the next mob without having to worry about being swarmed. As a Human Form only you have fewer AOEs so it's even more important.

You don't need Maneuevers for Vengeance either if you have Assault and Tactics.

Like I said: Defense is much more important than a chance for a stun.

I don't know, dude...that build is looking pretty endurance heavy. Even taking off sprint/tactics/stealth (which I assume you don't plan on running normally in combat?) the consumption is rather high, and the recharge on your end discount power isn't really enough to cover you. And if you're going clarion, you can't use ageless to refill your blue bar...

I like the defense and recharge you managed to accrue

It has enough global recharge to pretty much have conserve power up half the time and light form the other half- Both provide extra recovery.

Stealth will be run in combat. There's also the option of the cardiac alpha ability.

Are you planning on bouncing back and forth between hovering and being on the ground regularly while in combat?

Because, I suspect that you will grow weary of having to drop to the ground to fire off Solar Flare each time it recharges.

Then again you might enjoy the back and forth playstyle (hovering vs. on the ground).

Your decision. Enjoy.

I brought this up the other day in another thread, but combat flight has a bug wherein it only provides positional defense instead of including defense to types also (as hover does.)

Given the fact that my build focused on defense to types instead of positions, I will not be using combat flight as anything but an lotg mule, or in select situations that call for it (Lambda turrets for example)

After recent developments, I will no longer be going with a human form only build.

are you talking about the Kheld changes on beta or something unrelated?

I am thinking about trying a human Only PB (in fact the changes on Beta seem to make it even more palatable), so I was following this thread with curiosity.

Yes, the changes on Beta. A lot of people seem to be under the impression that Human Only will still have a clear advantage after perma light form (which carries over to forms) and Inner Light (which has a much longer duration than buildup)

Here is why I have decided to go Tri Form:

1.) Exemping. The WST's and Flashback systems are a very big part of the game, and I find that Kheldians with all of their forms are some of if not the most effective things to play when you exemp as far down as level 15 (still so even higher.)

2.) I use Human Form attacks for mostly the single target melee's to take out bosses. The Knockback in Solar Flare becomes a non-issue when you shift to Nova and take out everything but the bosses you just knocked back in two shots. Light Form will give Nova much more safety in the form of resistance and mez protection.

3.) White Dwarf is, in my opinion, a much better tank than Human Form. Sometimes the going gets rough, and paired with the +HP and resists that come with Dwarf (and the mitigation in Dwarf Flare) stacking with Light Form, Dwarf will *in my opinion* add much more versatility to my playstyle.

4.) Buildup benefited Human Form the most. Inner Light, while perhaps still favoring human attacks, will help out Nova substantially also. There are situations where you want to use AoE's, and situations where you want to stay at range. Nova is your best option for both (once again, LF in Nova will make it more survivable to boot.)

I'm not saying that the decision I am making the the best one to make, I'm just explaining my reevaluation in light of recent events.

(All these reasons)
Plus, tri-form is more fun!

"Fun" is a bad word around these parts. It has been established that it is subjective and therefore irrelevant.

you're talking to the guy that wrote the i9 PB TriForm guide! (just came back to the game)

For some reason I thought you already had triform PB. Definitely go Triform first, forget the naysayers, "dance" between forms and kick some booty and enjoy what a properly played PB has to provide. Really, it's not about the size of the build, it's how you use it

I just deleted my Earth/rad at lvl46, not because it was weak, but because I thought it was boring to play. Fun is relevant to how I play.

Ok then...it's less like playing an energy melee character? By which I am not implying that energy melee is "Not Fun," just that tri-forming gives one more options.

See my OP. I've switched between Human and Tri Form through the leveling process with more time spent on Tri Form. My main is a tri form Warshade.

Haha, I actually have fun playing Luminarious human-only as an energy/energy blapper with good resists and a small bag full of extra goodies. I can enjoy both routes, I was just explaining why Tri Form ended up taking the cake for me.

I've been all over the place about this, I know, but I think I have finally settled on a Human Form build I want to begin working towards when i21 comes out. I was going to go Tri Form, but I just like this build too much to not start work on implementing it (I still need one and a half purple sets for my Warshade before I even start on this, for the record... But it's next in line.)

There is literally nothing I see wrong with this build. I'll run down some quick stats and then you can decide if you want to give it a look or not.

-167.5% Global Recharge (Perma Light Form and some breathing room)
-85% Resistance to s/l/f/c/e/n
-77.9% Resistance to Toxic (85% w/Essence Boost)
-31.6% s/l defense (will be higher in game since combat flight is providing positional only in Mids)
-29% Melee Defense, 27.2% Ranged Defense, 22.9% AoE Defense
-251% Regeneration, 1457 HP
(2145 w/Essence Boost)
-110 Max Endurance, 4.94/s End Recovery
-Resistance Debuff Procs in every attack that will be used
(Aside from Photon Seekers)
-Fantastic Enhancement Values

edit: Can't get the datalink to work. Just copy the data chunk on the bottom of the post.

So, without any further ado...

Like Mr. Pibs and Red Vines, this build looks crazy delicious.

My I21 rebuilt doesnt have any of the purples or PvP IOs and I'm offically jealous. Glad to see you stuck with Human form tho. I feared we were a dying breed.
