Rage is a great power (base +80% damage, +20% to hit!), that can be made perma. But, during a rage crash, your damage is -99999%, -25 end, and -20% def for 10 seconds. I consider it well worth it, and you can monitor your damage (when red, rage crash), but understand, as a defense (partial) toon, -20% def drop for 10 seconds can hurt. |
It won't prevent the 10 second damage debuff, but if you have vet attacks they'll do damage during the debuff period.

Just read what I quoted slowly. I have a Shield /SS Tank, she's on Justice, still leveling her though cos other toons have been played more like my Fire/Axe tanky. All PuGs gladly accepted.

Near 3000 HP outside of OWtS (Capped with)
82.5% Rech
40 HP/Sec Regen outside of Rebirth
74% DDR with 1 active defense, 2 seconds off perma double stacked.
Absolutely need the Cardiac Alpha, even with 3.63 EPS recovery.
It probably costs more than 6 Billion, but you could easily cut out a purple set or 2 as well as the 3% Res IO, as its mainly for show.

But that extra to hit, damage will also help your shield charge :-)
Just want to give you the only real downside to SS. Maybe your friend was talking about this?
