Though I don't understand why, I'm certain a lot of players are really happy with that image.

I'm considering making it my desktop wallpaper.

Eh, Statesman doesn't bug me as much as some of ther others. Though I approve of any they choose to kill, 'cause I don't really lurve any of them. Should be fun.

I never cared for the Statesman character.
If he is soo big and bad why does he need me and some friends to come to his rescue from Tyrant?
Why doesn't he go after Recluse? No he just stands there on his boat.
Ha! He doesn't even have a cool boat. At least Sutter has a war ship. States just has a cargo ship.

Seeing how the Surviving Eight are also the ones to hand out TFs. I wonder how that is going to pan out.

Also seeing how Maurder is the Preatorian BAB they really can not kill off Brawler.

I hope he gets killed by a huge mob with the initials E.D.

Yeah, because the character is the developer, so it's entirely justified karmic death...

My money is on Back Alley Brawler. This is all pure speculation:
1. No TF, so no massive re-code to kill him off. Considering that "more incarnate trails" are coming all the time, revamping another TF, as well as updating any arc that talks to a Surviving 8, none of which go to BAB, sounds like a heck of a large code-load.
2. Brother Principle not just for horror movies
3. Losing his home zone anyway, so keeping him and sticking him somewhere else requires more coding than just killing him off.
4. New intro has BAB out and about - possible tie in to have him die in the new tutorial, upping the stakes immediately and immortalizing his fall to every new toon.
5. Lack of "fame." Even with "Just Said No to Superadine" and other in-game references to BAB, he just doesn't have the fame as some of the other Surviving 8.

This is all speculation, and a bit of humor. I personally hope BAB is kept around. I hope he's coded a new place to hang, given a task force, and is around in-game forever. Whatever happens, I'm sure as heck enjoying the ride. Seems like things just get better and better.

Hummm interesting. . . But Marauder is the Preatorian BAB, so that does not con well. Becuase if they don't exist in the Primal world, can they exist in the Praetorian one?

Now with them redoing Galaxy City they could just move BAB to Atlas (which is getting a graphics update) and give him some early missions the same as you get from Marauder in Nova Preatoria.

I don't think that's a problem. There's quite a bit of divergence.

  • Where's Lord Recluse? As I recall, a dev said at the last herocon "Cole probably killed him years ago."
  • Where's Nemesis? "He probably died a clockmaker at a happy old age."
  • Not to mention that Mother Mayhem is still in the body of Aurora Borealis (or whoever she'd be in Pratoria) would be in Pratoria, rather than in her own body.
I'm sure there's more... that's just off the top of my head.

You guys do realize these are all teasers for a system that's going to take MONTHS to finish, right? We're not going to hop into Issue 21 and go "Where's Synapse?"

Not true...

Although that already needs to be changed since they're doing away with Galaxy City as we now know it.

That's what he want's you to think. I'm sure that it's all part of a plot.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it isn't him, but seems like he's the easiest.

Here's what is going to happen:

Statesman is going to go a little crazy old-school villain. He's going to tie a woman up and leave her on the train tracks... except it's Azuria on a rock in the Magi complex. Why? Because he's secretly in love with her, and found out that she's hiding a secret love triangle with a Rikti Monkey and a Nemesis sniper. Heartbroken, Statesman will attempt to lightning rod Azuria only to have his power bounced back at him through a magical protective spell cast upon her by a Circle of Thorns Death Mage. Statesman kill be killed instantly by his own overpowered power.
