Change Keyes Trial Badges

This is just a suggestion, not necessarily a complaint about difficulty, but I would change the following two badges for the Keyes Trial:

CURRENTLY:
Loves A Challenge - earned by having no one die during the last round of the trial, the fight with Antimatter.

SUGGESTED CHANGE:
Close Call - earned when the league stops a player from being killed by Antimatter's Disintegration power.

CURRENTLY:
Bunker Buster - Destroy all three entrance doors to one of the bunkers within 3 seconds of each other, then repeat the process for the other two bunkers as well.

SUGGESTED CHANGE:
Make the badge require only ONE of the bunkers have all three doors destroyed within 3 seconds.

I would leave Anti-Anti-Matter and Avoids the Green Stuff alone conceptually, once the latter has the bug with pets counting against you fixed.

Bunker Buster just... isn't fun. The requirement to take down all three bunkers that way reeks of artificial difficulty. It's arbitrary, and it feels like it was made this way specifically to keep people from earning it. It's not even hard as it stands now, it's just a lot of sitting around and waiting for everyone to line up before the league leader says "Go!"

As for my suggested change to Loves A Challenge, well, there are two things that kill people in this round of the trial with any regularity: 1) Obliteration Beam, and 2) Disintegration. The former is already covered under Avoids the Green Stuff, so the badge already pretty much feels like it's meant to reward a team's ability to stop Antimatter's Disintegration power as it stands. In this case, I figure, why not just tip the scale further in the direction it's already leaning?

I sincerely doubt that either of these suggestions will actually be implemented since they've already gone live, but I also don't see any harm in saying "If I designed this, I would have done it this way," especially not on the Suggestion boards.

I like your idea about Bunker Buster. The current Bunker Buster is like requiring one to get at least 5 nades and acids within 2 seconds, instead of just one for Synchronized. Having it be just for one set of doors seems reasonable to me.

While I like Loves a Challenge as is, your idea is actually significantly different. In order to more closely match the original, I think you would need to change it to - earned when the league stops all players from being killed while being affected by Antimatter's Disintegration power.

If someone died to Obliteration beam, so be it. If Anti-Matter kills someone not being disintegrated with a regular attack that is fine, but if anyone dies while they have the Disintegration effect, you miss out.

I would point out that the likes a challenge badge, as it currently stands, also requires that you destroy no terminals in the final fight. Thus letting him regen to full health several times over the course of the fight, which makes it harder when you take the ten minute time limit into account. Hell, it's probably WHY that time limit is so short compared to everything else in the trial.

Personally, I don't think any of the badges need to be changed. I just think disintegration needs to be rebalanced. I think all of the other badges are obtainable by practice but not dying on the final part is pure luck due to disintegration.

Loves a Challenge kinda bugs me. The "and don't die" aspect feels so...tacked on. I've never tried for a "Master of" run for any of the classic, because, just on principle, the "no deaths" challenge runs contrary to part what I enjoy about this game. Doing stupid stuff and, occasionally, biting off more than one can chew, is part of that. In the case of Keyes Island, it feels like they just sort of added on "and don't die" to bring back the "old" form of Master badges back when, at least on a personal level, I've been much happier without them.

At the very least, if they want to have a "don't die" badge that's fine, I suppose, but I don't really feel like it belongs as a tacked on requirement to the current badge, which focuses on something completely different.

i pretty much agree with bunker buster change

i also agree with what lazarillo says about the loves a challenge badge, thematically it is fine, but the no deaths part is superficial
