Working On a New Build (Brute)
I think I have decided on a Dark/Willpower Brute as my next project. When I get home I will work on the build using Mids and a few of the other build guides I've read over the past few weeks. If any PvP Guilds out there are interested in a bit of new blood, I would love to join an active PVP Supergroup or Villaingroup (I really don't mind which side I start on... or end up on).
DM/WP is not a good Brute build for PvP. Actually, there's really no such thing as a good Brute build for PvP post-I18.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Yeah, after reading up on the recent changes (been gone since AE came out) and I'm starting to notice that.
What about a Dark/WP Scrapper?
Nope
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
Maybe you should wait until regen comes out for brutes.
Proton Sentry Peacebringer:lvl 50+++ - Human Build / Triform Build
Quasar Sentry Warshade:lvl 50+- Human Build / Triform Build
Red Katipo Arachnos Soldier:lvl 50+++ - Crab Build / Bane Build
Black Katipo Arachnos Widowlvl 50+++ - Fortunata Build / Night Widow Build
Yea, brutes are not good at all in pvp. Maybe /regen will be decent simply for the annoying to try to kill factor. I can see a dark/WP stalker being pretty good if you are set on that combo.
I always thought that stalkers were a bit too cheap. Two hit kills are really fun and all, but it just seems too easy at times. I see the big flaw in the brute (not enough buildup) and have been looking at scrappers instead. I don't really want to try a tanker, I fairly like the blap factor of scrappers (and brutes in pve).
Mostly I just like the idea of a dark attack because of that -acc that comes with it. I'm doing the research, but the builds are all evading me. Soon though I should figure out what the hell I'm doing. Heh.
Stalkers have not been able to 2shot anything since i13 hit us. Stalkers aren't cheap if they are played the way they're supposed to be played. In fact there are very few good stalkers left and I'm not one of them. A few who stood out to me were Kiri, sneaky sushi, and Mr. Liberty. You should get a feel for how pvp is now on a toon you already have and plan accordingly.
In terms of general zone pvp, brutes just don't have enough damage. They're best used as taunt-bots or disruption with webs. Dark melee is also not a good choice for zone. Dm/wp is a solid combination for fightclub but that gets old and boring real fast.
Willpower is not a good choice for a scrapper. It's probably the second worst choice just above dark armor. If you're set on willpower, don't use it on a scrapper.

The problem with visable melee in PvP is when you fight any ranged character because they can kite you. You will only be able to get a few hits in, so you have to pick the powersets with higher burst damage/mez to make your hits count. A scrapper with KM or MA seem to be pretty popular and effective. Greater fire sword/headsplitter crits are nice, and good /SS tanks actually pack quite a punch.
Just my thoughts..
Well, so far of my quazi-pvp toons I have a Inv/SS Tanker, Ill/Rad Troller, Rad/Rad Defender, Psy/Nrg Blaster and a Bane Spider. All are at 50 with their slots pretty much maxed out. Worst part is, aside from the blaster, the defender is my second choice in PvP.

Stalkers actually require a level of skill now, and two shots haven't been around since i13 like Kool_Virus said. I never made one for the same reason pre i13, but I recently rolled one and it's at lvl 35. I've had quite a bit of fun in Siren's Call. You have to find the right moments to fire off attacks in favorable situations, or you are toast. They are still kind of cheap, but are easy to retaliate against.

I've gone over the different powersets for a Brute that I want to try to run in most, if not all, pvp zones and arenas. My biggest issue is to figure out which primary/secondary to pick. I've gone through the Titan list of powers and armors and I've picked quite a few secondaries, but am narrowed down to two primaries.
Primary Powerset
Dark Melee (for the -acc buffs) (I am leaning strongly to this powerset)
Kinetic Melee (for the buffs and -dam)
Secondary Powerset
Energy Aura (For the endurance benefits)
Invulnerability (For the amazing damage absorbtion)
Willpower (For the regen of endurance and health, also for the +perception)
In general I'm more thinking towards the Dark/Willpower for this build, but again, I wanted to get some feedback from the crows to see if anyone has some input I may not be noticing. And yes, I know the -dam can't be enhanced but the -acc can, this is something I'm considering making that one a stronger benefit.
