Build Assistance [MA/SR]
First off you want to be soft capped which is 45% to Melee, Ranged and AoE defense. It is paramount for an effective SR player. You will need to start looking at invention sets to help you get there as they produce the bonus's for defense. But Touch of Death for Melee is a good example. I would stock up on up to 5 Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge so you can get your powers back quicker and run your attack chain.
Below is my MA/Sr scrapper which has a bunch of purple sets, but you can easily sub them out for cheaper stuff. Its just to give you some flavor of what can be done.

You want to drop thunder kick and take storm kick much better in every facet of the game, I rarely see any 50 MA's have TK still
The prefererred MA Chain is SK>CKorCS>SK>CAK...I prefer Cobra Strike because no knockback and the chance to stun especially if I start the fracas with an Eagles Claw.

I put this build together. It works with the Alpha Spiritual Core Incarnate power to make Hasten close to perma and the attack chain of SK-CS-SK-CAK-repeat can be utilized easily. It has a self heal which makes a SR's survivability double in my opinion.
