Amalgam advice and Clockwork Help please.

Here's an amalgam build I want to try out , but not exactly sure where to start. The idea I have is something with a Green Lantern feel to it with a Green Arrow/Hawkeye feel mixed in. Something in Defender and Corrupter with Archery as 1 of the powers. Thinking of Archery instead of the Trick Arrow power and where i'm lost is choosing a primary.

I'll start the character in Praetoria and could do a Defender for Red side and a Corrupter for Blue side. The Vanguard Bow will work great with this idea.

I also need some advice for a character that was Inspired by the Clockwork Statesman is fighting in the "City of Heroes Freedom" picture. Brute or Scrapper with Claws as the Primary. Again unsure of a second power for it.

Basically something like 1 of these but with Vanguard Claws. Can't get the shoulder guns like the BCU has in the picture but we can get something similar to 1 of these. I play male toons and it would be a Resistence built one to take on the actual Imperial Defense Force. I just notice that idea has a Terminator style feel to it.

Mk-VI "Victoria"

Mk-VI

Mk-VI "Victoria" androids are a deadly assassin android model. Unlike the ACU, BCU and Warwalkers these cunning automatons prefer to employ stealth to engage in melee and deliver killing blows to their enemies.
Powers
Blade Flurry Melee (Cone), Superior DMG(Lethal/Energy), Foe Knockback, -Def
The Victoria can unleash a deadly attack with her energy blades in a large cone in front of her dealing superior lethal and energy damage, reducing her targets' defense and possibly knocking them down.
Cross Cut Melee, Moderate DMG(Lethal/Energy), Foe -Def
The Mk6 Victoria can lash out at her foes with a pair of strikes with her arm blades and reduce their defense while dealing moderate lethal and energy damage.
Dance of Blades PBAoE Melee, Moderate DMG(Lethal/Energy), Foe -Def, Minor DoT(Lethal)
The Victoria executes a magnificent twirling attack which causes high lethal and energy damage as well as reducing her foes defense and possibly knocking them down.
Feint Melee, Moderate DMG(Lethal), Self +Def(Lethal, Melee)
The Victoria's Feint attack deals moderate lethal and energy damage to her target while boosting her own melee and lethal defense for a short time.
Plasma Eye Beams Ranged, Moderate DMG(Energy), Foe -DEF
The Victoria Mk6 is capable of firing a powerful energy beam from her eyes which will reduce its targets' defense and cause energy damage.
Swipe Melee, Minor DMG(Lethal/Energy), Foe -Def
The Mk6 Victoria can lash out at her foes with a pair of strikes with her arm blades and reduce their defense while dealing moderate lethal and energy damage.
Placate Ranged, Foe Placate, Self Stealth/Hide
The Victoria Mk6 can trick her opponents and slip away and deliver a deadly critical hit.
Force Barrier Self, +15% Def(All), +Regen
The Warworks are not only equipped with nanobots which allow them to recover from damage quickly, but they also are cloaked in a force field which makes them very difficult to hit.
Stealth Toggle: Self Stealth, +DEF
You blend into your environment and can only be seen at very close range. If you attack while using this power, you will be discovered. Even if discovered, you are hard to see and have a bonus to Defense. While Invisible, your movement is Slowed. Very low
Arm Self-Destruct Disorient
You are Disoriented.

But at least you can narrow your archer down to the following archetypes: Blaster, Corruptor, Defender, Mastermind. This means you'll be pairing Archery with either a corruptor/defender/mastermind buff/debuff set, or a blaster secondary.

The devs unfortunately made robot toons tough to build, so far as psi resists. They gave their robot critters psi resists by the boatload, then got stingy about giving psi resists to us. If you care about psi resists, Elec Armor and Ninjitsu provide access to that. You could also go with Willpower with minimal FX and some handwaving to explain the powers, or with Dark Armor with minimal FX and much handwaving.

Thanks and to answer the Green Lantern question for ya and to clarify better. I'm talking about a combination of Green Lantern and say Hawkeye for example. Like how they did in Amalgam comics where they combined Wolverine and Batman to make Dark Claw.

My idea is to use a Defender or a Corrupter with the Archery power for the Hawkeye/Green Arrow part and then another power to give it the Green Lantern styled power. For a Defender i noticed that Archery is a secondary. So i'm looking for advice on a Primary for that AT that would give me the Green Lantern vibe to go with Archery that is the other half of the mix. Same thing with a Corrupter if i go that route. Archery and something else.

For example a super strength shield build would work for Captain America. Then if you give him flight from Superman, you'd have Super Soldier who was the Amalgam of the 2.

Kin or Rad colored green?

I don't remember what the Green Lantern could do.

I love Amalgam characters it can be a lot of fun. Of course I read some of the old marvel/DC mash-ups when I was a kid.

Right off suggestions are:

Corrupter

Archery/Rad - Rad pretty much is the only set that feels "Lanternish" to me. I don't know if we'll ever get "energy constructs" in the game. As it so tied to the DC universes GL corps.

Archery/Dark. You can play with dark's tint and get some interesting effects. Also lots of synergy here. Tar Pit + Rain of Arrows + Scourge = Good Times

Mastermind
Bots/Trick Arrow: If only we could tint our pets! So this one is a stretch, but you could RP the pets as mental constructs. Also they have the handy habit of buffing you. I've played one of these. Weird combo...and more effective than you might think.

Defender:

Force Field/Archery: This one I think is the closest to the 'feel' of the character you thinking about. But that's my opinion..just seems like it fits the theme best.

Traps/Archery: Traps is a bit stronger (IMHO) on a defender than it is on a corruptor. But again we can't color its "pets".

Controller:

Grav/TA You might consider a Grav/TA controller. Again, sounds unusual at first. But the Gav powers can be colored to fit your theme. And you'll be a control monster. Think of all the times GL holds, immobilizes, or slows down his attackers.

Have fun..I hope something I posted was helpful!

OK, I looked through all the blaster secondaries, and all the buff/debuff sets. I'm assuming you're more into the will channeling, energy construct kind of stuff, and not so hung up on the color green (which you can get out of power customization anyway). Here's what stood out to me, hopefully this helps you brainstorm ideas.

Fire Manipulation and Ice Manipulation will give you swords out of thin air.

Devices, Traps, Storm Summoning, and Dark Miasma create various little bundles of fun from thin air.

Darkness Manipulation is still unknown but may also fit the bill.

Ninjas includes Archery attacks, though with no ability to customize your henchmen, will require a lot of handwaving to call your henchmen constructs.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. That helps me out with a few character ideas now. 2 Loyalists meaning 1 for each type and 2 Resistance for the same way.

You're right i'm the Hal Jordan Green Lantern fan. I grew up with "Super Friends" cartoons as a kid. So the energy stuff Green Lantern did was some cool stuff. I'll definitely be checking out these ideas. I was gonna try a Peace Bringer for a Green Lantern styled toon. I just need to read up on the single form builds, if I play a Peace Bringer.

It could be fun to do a Batman inspired toon on a Warshade as far as Amalgam ideas go.
