After Magneto ripped out the adamantium the X-Men had to fly back home quickly. During the trip, Xavier and Jean interact with Wolverine on the psychic plane, where several times Logan appears to be a boneless skin, like a ghost.

I think the "ripped out his skeleton" misunderstanding comes from mis-reading these scenes.

Wolverine has been reduced to a single drop of blood and regenerated back into a full person from that state.

Originally, Wolverine was conceived to be a mutant Wolverine who had become mostly-human. He was going to be a human-torch style hothead braggard, with a quiet and creepy vampire sister who would balance out his wolfman character. Fortunately this never happened, though his mutation has always implied he is incredibly feral and always no more than two steps away from devolving into a subhuman monster.

The movie adamantium bullet was terrible because it meant that unless Wolverine's adamantium can regenerate, he spent the entire X-men trilogy with a vulnerable "bone only" patch on his skull, and a bullet rolling around inside it. You can be really geeky and point out that the weak spot wasn't visible in Wolverine's X-Men 1 x-rays.



I thought the costume looked like Tali as well
