I'd also get behind having the TV cycle through "channels," a few being easter eggs based on actual popular TV shows. One good one would be the "LOST" title card; a double play on the TV series by J.J. Abrams and the villain group known for wearing a TV as a helmet.

Maybe this has been suggested before (I'm sure it has, but didn't find anything), but with the onset of the Steampunk Pack, the timing seems good for a TV chest emblem. Something like the Rerto Monitors in the base builder would go well with the steampunk look. And for those not into the steampunk look, maybe a more modern option.
