Am I crazy? (Spines/Dark/Bod - Musc/Ageless)

So,

Been working on variations for my freshly iBlinged sp/da scrapper, and got to wondering about using Ageless for extra recovery vs. Cardiac for the endurance discount.

I know(think) the mids numbers for Ageless are either way of or just showing the initial super-buff, but I thought I read somewhere that it averages out for about 5 end/sec or so? If I understand it right, the last minute (assuming the t4) should be about 1.4ish/sec more than mids shows if incarnate powers are off, yes?

Also, Musculature radial gives a bit of a bonus to end mod, anyone know if that translates into buffing the recovery boost from Ageless?

Anyway, thoughts on something along these lines? Defense is in the "small purple to cap" zone, and hasten is a few seconds off perma. Also not dead set on the slotting in Death Shroud or Obsidian shield. In game those steadfast pieces are in OS and the full set is there; not in love with that either.

Budget wise this is about as expensive as I can go, and I'll probably think of something better than that hami in OS.

The Mids' numbers are showing the initial buffed amount. The amount buffed during the final minute is 1.67% end/s. The actual amount increases based on how high your maximum endurance is. You shouldn't need both Cardiac and Ageless, even with an endurance-hungry power set combination. I would suggest Ageless if you don't mind pressing the button when you need endurance. That would allow you to use Musculature or Spiritual in your Alpha slot.

Thanks, that last bit was basically the gist of my question - Ageless for endo so I can use Musculature alpha.

Of course that option has a lot of offense going for it, but something with cardiac/barrier would be more defensive.

Too many good choices.

Yeah their are indeed too many good options I think I'm going to do Cardiac/Rebirth +regen/Reactive/Warworks on my DB/Fire Brute if I ever get it to 50, been working on my bots/traps/mu and I went Alpha/Void/Reactive/Barrier/Warworks would have gone Rebirth but I realised the bots don't have enough HP to make that regen really count

Any reason why your looking into Barrier more than Rebirth +regen for your scrapper?

Something you may not have considered is Musc Alpha will boost any endurance modification powers by 33% that's an improvement to stamina and at least 1 power in body mastery I think

I thought about Rebirth, but with the amount of recharge I'm looking at in Dark Regen, I pretty much have heals covered; Endurance is the big issue for this character. Ageless +rec would cover that, but then I loose the extra resistance from Cardiac. So it's sort of Offense (Ageless/Musc) vs. Defense (Barrier/Cardiac).

Also having a bit of trouble getting to a defense number I like for s/l (since I can't afford that pesky pvp +def unique), which makes Barrier appealing.

To make it tougher, my in game build still runs /blaze; having hard time giving up the fun factor for the more sensible /body.

Really the only certainty on this toon was Interface; t4 Reactive Radial got slotted last night. Epic Sea of Tiny Numbers.

Haven't even started thinking about Lore yet.

Much more straightfoward on my wm/sd brute: Spiritual core/Pyronic radial /Rebirth +regen/Seers Radial/Reactive Radial (might switch to the -regen one).

Self Indulgent Update:

Tried this theory out with t1 musc and t1 ageless in a sp/da/blaze build. I can see where this would work (even without the Bod pool) at higher tiers. Does anyone know if EndMod from Musculature Radial has an effect on the ageless recovery buff? Just curious.

The downside is loosing the extra resistence from Cardiac and purposely not taking Barrier. In a perfect world I would have all 4 and be able to go between the offensive and defensive configs.

I'll post another build soon, if only for my own edification.

I've become a big fan of Cardiac/Barrier combo. Granted, I use Pyronic/Reactive to make up for the loss in damage.

I tried the Musculature and really was not all that impressed with the increased damage output. Yes, the increased damage was noticeable, but I didn't feel it really impacted my build to the same degree as the Cardiac.

Obviously extra damage is great, but for me, being able to stay in the fight for longer periods with out having to use Dark Regeneration seemed more efficient. I intend to get Musculature on every scrapper, as it has it's uses, but my default slotting for Dark Armor is usually be Cardiac.

i totally agree, my main is a SS/SD brute and he does rather massive damage but has bad END, although when i first got him to 50 i was kill crazy and went musculature for the damage and got to T4 and there was a slight difference but really not that much and my endurance was still horrible and id have to pop endurance inspies in a battle longer than 45 sec so i finnally went cardiac and now its T4 and im am VERY happy with it,i dont even have to pay attention to my Endur,it barely moves

I see where you're going with this. As it stands I decided that both combos are too good to pass up, so I'm masochistically doing both. Also sticking with blaze for the full on scraster madness. I'll probably flip equation though; run Musc/Ageless as the default and switch to Cardiac/Barrier when I need more resliency.

Hitting a mental block with the base build though, this doesn't represent in-game, but the basic idea is the same:

I'm sure the slotting could be better in some way, just not certain how.

I started a Spines/DA scrap and got it to 34. I like it so far but how do you fix the endurance problems?

Posted

In the early lvls slot heavily for end redux, and try to manage toggles somewhat. Drop an armor between fights and bring it back up, that sort of stuff. Don't leave sprint on all the time, etc.

Perfomance Shifter, Numina's +rec/reg, and Miracle +rec also help and with A-merits are not hard to come by.

Body mastery (first build in this thread) is a great help and there are two different incarnate power choices (Ageless Destiny and Cardiac Alpha) which are basically the mac daddies of endurance management. They are good enough that you only need one of them. No clue what later incarnate slots may bring. I decided to forego Body because I am having too much fun with Blaze. It's doable with either of the incarnate powers I mentioned.

It's very heavily tied to iPower picks, and no consideration was given for exemplaring. But i'm one very pricey IO away from s/l soft-capped, 1 purple insp away from e/ne soft-cap and lay out AoE damage like crazy, which is what it was about after all.

Any suggestions welcome, especially on slotting for TS and DS.

I know the endurance looks rediculous with iPowers off. Ageless really is that good.
