/SS change?

I was playing my tank today after the patch and his Punch and Haymaker abilities now do Knockback. The tooltips show knockback now. Previously these abilities did Knockdown.

I don't see anything in the patch notes about this. Is this an intended change? If so, its more difficult to tank if the tank is constantly knocking his foes away from him.

It also seems sometimes my Haymaker was not showing an animation.

SS didn't change, perhaps you were fighting grey cons.

Knockdown is just a lesser degree of Knockback; as far as I know, the attacks have always called it knockback.

Have you been fighting lower level enemies? The one thing (besides slotting for KB) that will change KD to KB is fighting -1 or below enemies.

Attacks that are considered to have "knockdown" are ones that have a knockback magnitude of .67 or lower. Knockdown isn't a separate game mechanic like knock up.

So like Finduilas mentioned, anything that cons lower then you will get knocked back. Anything that has lousy kb protection, like clockwork, will also get knocked back even if they are even con.


Throwing darts at the board to see if something sticks.....

Thanks everybody, I was unaware of the knockdown / knockback game mechanic. The guides to /ss use the word knockdown and the paragon wiki lists Punch and Haymaker as having knockdown, so I thought it was a separate ability.

And yes, they were clockwork, blue to white cons.
