It was a while ago. The lower character invited the higher.

They may have changed it since then, it's been quite a while since I've done one, but I distinctly remember having to gain those levels again and re-train them.

I've got multiple "project groups" going - yes, SSKing does let people play together, but actually having them *at the same level* comes in handy as well.

Yes, we could actually use 4-6 people in a pact. Though I could see 4 as an upper limit.

The devs did say they'd be looking at expanding these when they came out. Of course, they also said they'd be monitoring and tweaking PVP after I13, choosing more Dev Choice arcs to free up AE slots, etc, etc, etc...

No, the higher guy is NOT exemped down. The higher person doesn't get any XP until the lower person catches up, but they are NOT exemplared down.

I *just* went into game and verified this. Level 5 corr, level 1 MM. Level 1 sent the level 5 a pact invite, which (of course) was accepted. Result: Level 1 is still level 1, level 5 is still level 5.

Now, if they TEAM, of course, there'll be exemping/sking. But just being in a pact doesn't do jack to the higher level's level.

(And I don't know what happened to Claws.)

Me neither.

Given the responses to my post thus far, I'm starting to suspect it may have been a bug that I thought was working as intended, so I never petitioned it.

Memphis_Bill is correct. The higher level character doesn't get XP until the lower level character catches up. All XP the higher level character generates is given to the lower level character, so for up to four levels, the lower level character gets DXP.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
Would be nice to be able to pact up existing level 29 (or whatever) characters.

I have to admit that my friend and I got beyond level 6 a few times before we realized, "We forgot to level pact!" haha Not that this is cause for me complaining (we're just sillyheads).
However, I still think it'd be great if they'd remove the level limit (and keep a level difference window restriction, if need be).

I vote for expanding the number of people in a pact. To like 4 or 5. And allow any characters within five levels of each other to form a pact. If that means a 50 powerlevels a 47, oh well. I don't see that as a problem.

Apparently I was the victim of a bug that I didn't realize was a bug then, because I actually lost 4 levels worth of xp and had to earn it over.

I couldn't tell you if it happened more than once, because all the other level pacts I have done were with characters of the same level.
