Phase out the time choke for various conversion recipes

The "once every x hours" restriction for several of the conversions in the game, such as Reward Merits to Alignment Merits, Alignment Merits to recipes, and Shards to Threads (at a 1:1 ratio) were meant to keep obscenely rich players from making tons of stuff on Day 1 of them going live and getting a big leap ahead of other players. It's not Day 1 anymore, so the restrictions aren't needed.

Moreover, the inf expense of some of these conversions is entirely meant to reduce the amount of available inf in the game. Positron told me this himself at the recent PAX East M&G. They're meant as the "rich person's alternative" to just running content. Removing the time limit from these conversions and letting players use them more would allow them to accomplish that goal more efficiently as well.

At the very least I want the restriction on how often we can spend hero merits removed. We are already restricted on how fast we can earn them, I don't see why we need to also restrict how often we can spend them.

The Devs introduced Prestige as a means to make sure people wouldn't be able to insta-build big SG bases with Influence on Day One. You could argue we don't need Prestige anymore but it's now been in the game for five and a half years and at this point it's likely never going to be changed. Do you really think the Devs are ever going to bother removing any other "rich player regulators" like that?

I guess it's worth suggesting, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it either...

This ^^^

So you save up your merits for months to get that shiny pvp IO you want. Poof, you get lucky and get it in a drop or your lowball bid finally comes through. Now you have a bunch of merits and you can only spend a little bit each day or try to find something else worth a bunch of merits to spend them on.

The spending restriction (and the poor layout of tip missions) makes me say screw it. I'll just farm a bunch, bringing even more inf into the system and buy the stuff when I feel like it instead of only being able to spend a different type of currentcy, once a day.

Prestige doesn't fall under the suggestion because it's not TIME-limited. You're free to trade every last drop of inf you have for Prestige all at once, and you always have been.
