Player decided new zone
Interesting genesis of an idea. Might involve too-tight time constraints on the devs...
Allow me to pose an alternative:
Unlock neighborhoods of an existing zone based on activity - ie, in Atlas Park, you could unlock Atlas Plaza, Chiron Medical Center, etc, and have access to each if the conditions were met.

If we had only one server, maybe. We have 15 with the EU servers. For each zone that got "unlocked," you'd have to have separate contacts, missions, etc - and you just *know* that there'll be a bug that puts someone's newspaper mission or TF mission in one of the "locked" zones.
The idea is meant to include the total successful "Guardian Teams" from ALL Servers and so will unlock the same new zone.
I would also be looking for a progression for the new zone to be completed. By this I mean 2-3 weeks after the zone is selected it is opened but is a warzone/or very limited in space - a few missions, 1 contact, outdoor medical bay like in the hollows, etc.
After a month(?) as the zone becomes more populated/cleaned up buildings appear with more NPC's and more missions, vendors, etc.
Each month(?) for a cpl of months more content becomes available.
The limit of the zone can be decided upon by the devs for whatever storyline they want:
- Warzone - is ALWAYS a warzone style. It is contantly being raided by Rikti, or unscrupulous types have taken over.
- Low Life-Style - zone is taken back but only poor people live there now. Is a haven for low-life scum.
- Middle Life-Style - zone is taken back but nothing major is going to be built.
- High Life-Style - zone is taken back and people with more INF than sense decide living in what used to be a warzone is the latest thing "Every weekend I get my butler to roam the beaches looking for unexploded bombs to decorate my foyer - I have lost 3 butlers in the last 2 months - good thing they're cheap ohahahaha"

this idea just poped into my head and wanted to get some opinons.
Overview
Allow the players to decide which new zone gets unlocked based on in-game events.
Please Explain
The devs create X number of new zones (basic to begin with) that exist outside of the Rikti Barriers.
Each new zone entrance is actually an attack point that the Rikti are attacking and trying to break through.
Each entrance allows a team/league to enter to fight off the invaders by forming a Guardian Team (name will be changed to be more appropriate).
The zones design/layout is just for the area to be fought in so will be small.
After a period (month?) the zone with the MOST number of SUCCESSFUL Guardian Teams will unlock that zone.
Bascially that zone has had the Rikti repelled so successfully that we have taken it back. It then stays locked until new Rikti Walls are erected which will allow the devs to fully design the new zone.
Initially it will be bare (maybe 1 Store only near the entrance) but over time more stores (origin specific), Trainers, even Trams will be added as it becomes populated by the populace.
I understand this would be a lot of work but it is just an idea
