Soft Cap Fire/Ice/Cold Build

The current build for my fire/ice/cold blaster hits the Ranged Def soft cap, but I am bugged that I had to invest 6 slots into a power that I do not use (Boxing) to do so. The build plays great, but I wish those slots could be used for other means than just getting the set bonus.

Build/Playstyle guidelines used:

- As a blaster, my priority is Damage, so I am not willing to sacrifice that to get defense.

- I tend to hover-blast with this character, so do not get into Melee range by choice.

- I have the Spirtual Total Radial Revamp to effectively get 3-slot recharge on Build Up, Aim, and Hasten.

Any thoughts on how I could still soft cap, but get more utilization from those slots? Thanks.

I'm confused as to why you went cold mastery and didnt pick up Frozen Armor and instead try to cap to S/L rather than Ranged. Building for Ranged defense typically requires alot of 6 slotting for bonuses. Looking over your build you've got Health way overslotted IMO for a blaster.

I made a build for an SG mate that caps to S/L. Review this build over - hopefully it'll give you some ideas. You'll have to tailor it though with your own powers (for example you'll need to swap out leaping for fly).

moved the set out of boxing and picked up the extra range via snipe set and botz. not a huge improvement, but you'll get some extra mobility.

also, you could move your celerity into sprint and slot a winter's gift into SS. Not sure of which travel power you use for travelling, but any would hold the WG slow resist.

i changed the slotting in fire breath to include the proc, the low accuracy should be fine given all the +acc set bonuses. RoF is slotted a bit differently, as are stamina and weave. inferno was one slotted- not sure if you use that. i'd either find a way to slot it or drop it. i dropped it for frozen armor in the following build.

deadboy_champion: So far, I am happy with Ranged defense on this toon, especially lately on the Incarnate trials. I do appreciate an example of capped S/L that I may be able to use on other toons, going forward.

EJI: Thanks - I see some improvement from the multiple BotZ sets. I am curious about the Hami-O's in Rain of Fire in the first build. In this build, without any accuracy slotted into RoF, the power has 235% accuracy, which already seems to me to be way more than needed. Adding the Hami-O's brings this up to 335%. Have you ever run into a situation where you needed that much accuracy?

i think 200% is the chance to cast the 'pet', but the actual accuracy of said pet is 100%. check your combat logs to verify, but i think that's how it works.
