cheep and cheerfull SR with 69% def
Stamina is over-slotted. Taking only 4 slots of Red Fortune is bad. Get that 5th slot for the global recharge bonus. Maneuvers is under-slotted.
I posted my opinions about aiming for the new soft cap in the other recent SR thread, so I won't repeat them here.
You can figure out your best attack chain by looking at activation times and recharge times. A power does not start recharging until it finishes animating. So, add up activation times for the other attacks and if those come out to being greater than the recharge for the power in question, you are ok to run that chain.
Thanks for your feedback Syntax.
I know you´re a big fan of getting defense close enough to the softcap whereby one purple inspiration will get you there, or failing that team buffs. It is quite an appealing idea, not to mention an awful lot cheeper.
My experience with the trials so far is rather similar to Werner´s... it´s very easy to get separated from the rest of the team. And while I do happily use inspirations, I´d rather not be dependent upon them.
My primary build, which I posted recently, has a completely different focus... enough recharge to run the top DPS attack chain. The secondary build here was designed for survivability on the incarnate trials, but I do want it to be playable too. If the build can run the Blinding Feint - Attack Vitals attack chain, then additional recharge isn´t actually going to improve it´s performance. Which is my main question... is it playable?
Normally I´d never invest more than 3 or max 4 slots in Stamina. The intention in this case was getting the set bonuses. The same goes for Maneuvers slotting. It´s not optimal, but it does serve it´s purpose; it gets me to the new soft-cap.
Concentrating on getting your level shifts is going to give way more survivability than anything else you can do. Given all the ToHit the mobs in those iTrials can throw around, I don't consider the new softcap something worth going after. And a single 9CU that's been on the map too long is still going to blow you (and anyone else) away.
I'm glad SR has a new trick other sets will be hard pressed to replicate (new softcap) though.

Super Reflexes: the Golden Fox of power sets!

WARNING: I bold names.

I´ve been having a look at some of the newest threads on the forum... more specifically getting SR scrappers to the "new soft-cap" of 59% def.
I´ve run a fair few trials now, with my tanks, and after several severe beatings i´ve been reconsidering my options for my SR scrappers. With that in mind I´ve been working on a secondary build for Aether, this time focussing pretty much entirely on survivability, and not on recharge/DPS. It´s definately affordable; there´s not a purple or PvP IO in the build.
I could use some feedback as to whether it´s gonna be playable? Is it gonna be possible to run a reasonable attack chain with this build? Has anyone done the trials with a soft-capped toon? Does it actually make a difference, with all the enemies buffs etc, I don't know how much it will actually help.
This is how it´s looking so far:
