Right click to e-mail friends

I think it would be cool if instead of having to manually type in a global friends' name and risk a typo going unnoticed, it would be nice to implement a "send e-mail" right click option for users from our friends list, or perhaps teammates. When transferring things that might be of some value (ie: infamy, enhancements, etc) it's obviously best to double check that you've entered the name correctly but I think this would be more convenient and safe.

Context menus in this game are a complete mess a lot of the time, because they've been added in bits and pieces over the game's entire lifespan. The result is that there is no standardisation and obvious options are missing from a lot of places.

But, yes, I do agree with you. That's a very good option to have, among other things. Adding the option to get a player's global or local names to ALL context menus that show up for players, including right-click on player character, right-click on global friend, right-click on local friend, right-click on team-mate an so forth. As should team invites, SG invites and so on.

So instead of the occasional thread complaint from a guy that made a typo we'll get a complaint thread from a careless person demanding the feature be changed because he wasn't paying attention to who he right clicked on and he sent a billion inf to a total stranger.

I'm pretty sure that right click>send is a pretty standard concept... I can't imagine anyone not glancing at the field to make sure they clicked on the right person's name. A typo is much easier to overlook, whereas a totally different name would probably be easy to spot. It's just as much a thing of convenience as it is a precaution, though... It gets to be a pain having to manually type in globals, double check that you got it just right, et cetera.

I didn't say I was against the idea. I was just pointing out we'll be trading one complaint for another.

Take a look at what happened with Mystic Fortune. The devs made a change and removed players ability to refuse it. That set off a wave of complaints from players that didn't want the buff. When the devs changed it back it set off another wave of complaints by players that didn't like the pop up window and the players that didn't like people being able to block their drive by buffing.

This is a totally different situation since it wouldn't interfere with the current method whatsoever-- I'm not saying the option to manually type in a global should be removed, just that another means of doing the same thing (quicker and more securely) would be a nice addition.

I love the idea

its also great to pass inspirations quickly for team members when dispersed...

No it isn't. What is being complained about isn't relevant. What I was poking fun at is the simple fact that people will complain about any change that gets made.

It doesn't matter that this is a great idea, there will be at least one idiot who will find a reason not to like it. It's the internet baby!
