mind/sonic

So i just made one, and im a noob when it comes to controllers especialy mind/sonic. I understand that mind can be a difficult class to play, so i was hoping to get pointers and suggestions on builds and what not, and rotations, what powers to pick and not to pick. I will be using this controller as a team player. Straight out of the box. End-game plans are just pure TFs. I figured a mind/sonic would do best, considering that i have Firekin, EleRad, Earth/Cold at lvl 50, mind u i havent played them in a while, or barely at all. Im not a big fan of controllers, but i loook at this as a challange for me, and i would love to see a group of baddies beating the crap out of each other. Then there is sonic to help my teamates.

Mind isn't difficult at all, I think its a pretty straight forward set to play. With that said I would say Telekinesis (TK) is challenging to play with effectively considering its a shadow of its former glorious self (I think its hold cap should have been higher but obviously not unlimited like the first iteration of its current form). These factors combined with a high endurance cost is why most players skip TK.

For Mind/ alone I recommend everything except Total Domination. Combined with /Sonic I would probably consider taking Total Dom in place of TK. /Sonic is an end pig. Without the help of the /Primal Mastery Epic and/or Cardiac Alpha, TK would be unsustainable for long periods of time in this combination and will easily crash your end.

I can't comment on /Sonic beyond this. Admittedly I have never been fond of that set as its never met my expectations. Its never worked out for me in any combination I have ever tried it with.

Well, if you need ideas, you should slot all your damage powers as attacks first and foremost. I've seen a LOT of people slot mesmerize and Dominate for mez duration and then complain that they solo too slowly. Well, yeah, not slotting your attacks for damage is going to do that!

Total Dom IS worth a power pick, BUT, you need to 6-slot it, and get hasten. Click hasten just before or after every time you use the power. Preferably power-boosted, too. See, Mind doesn't have any other AoE control that allows you to keep Containment. Mass Hypnosis breaks, Fear and Confuse don't offer containment, and TK needs to be kept on for 3 end per second and it pushes your foes away from you.

I'll be honest, even though the game is "Balanced around SOs", Total Dom is a power that benefits GREATLY from IO set bonuses and Alpha slotting. You can more than double its duration, and bring its recharge down to just over a minute, allowing you to use it quite often and reliably.

As for Sonics, eeh, i haven't played around with that set much myself, either. Just go with your gut, see what you use a lot and don't, then drop from your build anything that doesn't work out. We have respecs for a reason =)

Mind/Sonic is a very rare combo. I don't know that I've ever actually seen one in game.

Sonic Resonance can be a bit frustrating. It is probably the hardest set to kit out with IOs, because most of its powers don't take them, and the ones that do don't get very good ones. Mind Control also has no pet to hang Sonic's debuff ring on. Defenders and Corruptors face the same issues, but aren't as reliant on recharge buffs as Mind Controllers tend to be. Sonic Resonance also does not benefit from Power Boost in the Primal APP, which IMO is one the best picks for Mind Controllers. I don't want to discourage you from trying the combo, but for me it is probably one of the most challenging you could pick.

From Mind Control, you probaly need basically everything except Telekinesis. From Sonic Resonance you need the shields, big bubble, Liquefy, Disruption Field. The other powers are mostly situational.

Sounds like a tight build. Hes currently lvl 16, almost 17 already. Not to bad so far.
