Hmmm, nukes are looking less attractive.
not sure if this has been said yet(dont have time to read past the first page) but maybe they could take out the crash and have something similar to a rage crash afterwards? theres still the idea of "ive expanded all my power and im tired now" but it wouldnt COMPLETELY halt your playing

There seem to be good points on both sides and I feel this conversation/debate would best be continued, even if nothing ultimately comes of it.
Personally, I have little to no stake in this and can't form a real opinion. My ice/dark corr is teamed nine out of ten times with vicious scrap-dom, and since tar patch and ice storm are both big parts of the combo, the end result is that by the time I fire off blizzard, it's to mop up what's not dead, and what's not dead is going to take take about 3200+ points of damage between scourge and a painful res debuff. BEAT THAT JUDGEMENT!
The only other one of my toons that uses a crashing nuke is my emp/energy defender, so hitting nova on her is more of a cheap joke to gank a kill from the actual damage dealers that we all tend to laugh about, double points if she fails to kill them anyway, even after swallowing a bunch of reds (And despite this, she still has landed the finishing blow on more AVs than nearly all of my damage dealer toons combined) or if she's able to keep going anyway because her RA +Recovery is just that stupidly crazy.
Otherwise the rest of my toons with nukes generally use the crashless sort.

To be a little more specific, Nukes deal a scale 6.0 damage, which is one of the highest damage scales in the game, possibly second only to Assassin's Strike at a total of 7.0 (within the context of powerset powers). And it's AoE. However, that 6.0 isn't guaranteed. You have a 3.0 scale damage mod that always triggers, which means that your nuke will always do slighly more damage than a snipe. You have another 1.5 scale damage component on a 75% chance proc and another 1.5 scale damage component on a 50% proc. Basically, your percentage chance to deal damage looks like this:
6.0 - 37.5%
4.5 - 50.0%
3.0 - 12.5%
In other words, your chance to deal just base guaranteed damage is small, but your chance to deal full damage is far from guaranteed. That's useful to keep in mind when talking about power damage.
*edit*
Wait, does Fiery Embrace proc on Judgement powers?
