Just got finished updating for i20 here, but when I launch the game it goes through its usual launching CoH thing....... Then nothing. No error messages, no CoH.exe programs start running in my task manager, nothing.

Anyone know whats going on or having this problem too?

Using the NCSoft Launcher, or the old cohupdater? Also, just for clairty, the process's name would be "cityofheroes.exe".

I'd suggest posting a CoH Helper log & HiJack This log, to give us a better idea what's going on with your system.

I'm using the NCSoft Launcher. And yeah, that's the .exe. I just couldn't remember the exact name of it since I can't see it anymore as a reference. Not exactly sure what those logs are, or how to get them though.

And here is the CoH Helper I guess.

You're on XP Service Pack 2- right now when you launch the game you should be getting an error that says "The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.". Either upgrade to Service Pack 3 (which you really should do, as SP2 is no longer supported by Microsoft... and hasn't, for nearly a YEAR), or wait until the patch re-adds support for the obsolete OS.

Thanks for your help Kitsune Knight. Much appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue. I do not want to update my service pack to 3, so I guess that they will not charge me while I cannot play the game?? I am sure they will not want to take money from someone that they, through their actions, have just disabled from logging on.

Do not forget that you are running an operating system that is not even supported by the makers of that operating system (and they supported it for an obscenely long amount of time already!). You can upgrade, you just don't want to.

The patch will likely be out in the next few days.

Thank you for your response,
You are correct. I do not want to update. I hope that you are correct about the patch, although I feel that there may not be one, as they may not have a choice in the matter.
The other thing I am sure of, is that ultimately, CoH development will be decided by the monetary gains or losses due to people leaving or joining. So it really doesnt matter what I want as one single person. Just what I do.
