It's not as easy making it free. It costs money to store records of those transfers, it costs money and more storage data to make the transfer, etc. It's not as simple as making it free - it costs them a lot of money to do it too.

Its going on 2 days now that we can't make toons cause our slots our locked up.
If you're having a hard time understanding that then think of it as a raincheck. Store runs out what was promised, they give you a raincheck so when it is in stock you get it on sale price.
Frankly I don't care if its easy for THEM!
You don't go into a pizza place and decide to have less toppings because it will be more work for the cook. You don't have a cabbie drop you 6 blocks from your destination so he doesn't have to drive all the way there.

I don't buy Voodoogirl's "it costs money." It's shuffling data. If it were so horrendous, I don't think we'd have had them as a monthlong "perk" not that long ago.
Flipside, though, "you pay for a service" - go read the EULA. Service is not guaranteed. Things go down. While it's not untoward to *ask* for something in return for missing service, they're not obligated to do anything at all. I wouldn't call it a big issue (and yes, I have multiple pages of slots on many servers, so yes it would potentially affect me.)
Obviously everyone would love some more free transfers, but the only reason they gave out free transfers last year was as a promotion for the upcoming release of Going Rogue. They didn't add more character slots to the servers like they did with CoV so they gave us some free transfers for a limited time.
The first set of free transfers was during the 09 Winter Event when GR was still scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2010. When GR's release date got pushed back till August they gave us another week of transfers when GR finally launched.

Weren't there free transfer tokens passed out at some point too? Or am I remembering something else?
Either way, I'd definitely like to be able to swap characters to other servers without paying extra, but I think if it was just plain free, it'd create such a clout of data shuffling that it becomes unmanageable on a permanent basis.
However, maybe pass out 1 free transfer token a month? Or perhaps have 1 day a month when people can transfer for free?

Since we can't currently use our character slots. Can we please have a few free transfers so we can start them on different servers then move them back to our home servers.
